I was masked-up ( I wear two medical masks ) and was in daughter's car so no public transport, no crowds in the shops, but I won't be going later on when the crowds do descend, and I have food deliveries too. x

Would it not be simpler just to stop pretending that EP have complied, and release the evidence? It's not like evidence hasn't been comprehensively listed? Sorry mate but why do support a police force who clearly haven't complied with court orders? It's like you take pleasure in it. Do you not want open and honest police forces?

I'm more bothered about the police not responding about the withheld evidence. If they have nothing to worry about then why not come out and face the public ? You would wouldn't you, if you didn't think you were doing anything wrong or had anything to hide ?
The longer EP ignore this, the more that suspicion falls on them, and the public---well most of them, aren't stupid. They're a law unto themselves .

It is bad though Steve as there's no reason whatsoever why they can't now be handed over. There's not even an explanation such as they're all "medical notes which are confidential"-----which is acceptable because of living relatives, but to totally ignore repeated requests including court orders is indeed suspect.

I think in all it was 3 court orders but I wouldn't swear to that. Even so, would any member of the public get away with refusing to comply to a court order ? I think not.

Even JM had said he was a joker and was used to his tricks and puns, until it suited her to turn traitor. Nevill was obviously the same and this is where JB got it from.
It still doesn't point to him being a murderer. More like a character assassination.

I'm sure they would Jackie. I know if I was in that position/ situation I wouldn't want to see it rumbling on year after year for the past 36 years. How unsettling life would have been.
I might possibly have made an attempt to put a stop to it all ? If I'd have been honest of course.

That's what is said, but back then, when one dialled 999 one was put through to an operator who asked which service one required and then put the caller through to the appropriate service. It had nothing to do with the police so if such a call was 'hidden', it would have required the cooperation of the person in the call centre who took the call, as well as the police. Personally, in the light of the outcome, I wouldn't have wanted that on my conscience, would you?

These are the sort of reports that will be withheld as they're less likely to be destroyed when mental illness is involved in a case because of references made in murder cases particularly.

It also gives rise to another question, why, when Sheila was such an infrequent visitor to the farm, and MAY have, on some of those occasions, been transported by Colin, was no one else/Colin? informed that her behaviours had given SUCH concern that other help had been called for? I don't believe Nevill had ever called the police. I think he probably had Dr Ferguson's number and any call/calls for help, were made to him. It seems to be forgotten that, for the most part, Sheila lived on her own. She may not have lived well, but she muddled through. Nothing much seems to have occurred, in the way of crises, during that time, other than the one incident when Freddie called Nevill, and even then, Nevill didn't think it necessary to rush to London. He called Dr Ferguson.

I can categorically state if I was a member of the family I would be fighting to get everything disclosed so one way or another Jeremy Bamber would be released or kept in prison.

My argument is why keep anything until 2054, what's the point in that ? Though the object is that JB will be dead but it all seems very iffy to me. Why wait until then ? I haven't come across this before exect when innocent people were hanged, then posthumously exonerated years later which is no use to anyone least of all relatives of the dead who'd be dead themselves.

SHOULD members here be interested -and you're probably the only one who makes it their business to be, and even then, you lie through your teeth- they're perfectly free to take a trip over to Red to verify -in this case, catch you out as a liar- what you say, AND see how little I post there.
I truly fail to see why, if you were family, you'd be looking for something to keep him in prison when he's on a whole life sentence. It can hardly be prolonged, can it.

These documents were being sorted by JB and another prisoner at the time. Would the jury have convicted if they'd have known this ?

They'd have made it their business ,HAD they heard screams, -and I emphatically believe their house to have been too far away from WHF, for a scream to have carried that far- to rush to the Bambers to offer their help. I also believe, HAD such occurred, that both the housekeeper and the farm secretary would have known, if only to ensure they knew the truth, NOT Chinese Whispers.
As to why is 'stuff' being held until 2054? Well, okay, I'll be sorry not to be around then, but at the end of the day, it's none of my business, really. The family, whose concern it is for now, will be another 3/4 generations down the line and eventually, although one or two of them might show some interest in their past, it will fade into the mists of time.

PLEASE will you learn to read what's written, rather than what you make up. Certainly, I believe the gist of Julie's story, but I suspect there to be more, that she hasn't told, rather than less of it. That means JB can't say what she's left out because it would prove what he presently denies.
NOW, can you please quote, from my post, those words you claim me to have said. ie "JB is trying to..........",

The problem is Lookout, I simply don't believe such to have been possible, much as I know you want it to be. I saw what was on the first message, and I saw it as it was taken down. I also saw two different telephone numbers. As West said, HAD there been another call, rather than let him waste time in relaying it a second time, Bonnet would have stopped him. You don't know that there was a room full of other officers who caused a distraction. You can only say there might have been because it aids your belief that there were two calls.

Oh! The prelude to her breakdown? It's highly unlikely that the police in that area, HAD they been contacted, would have passed such information to Essex Police, don't you think? I think they'd have been more likely to contact Colin? I feel certain that a domestic incident wouldn't have been high on their list of priorities

Unless it could have been patched through because I think she went to WHF after that episode. Once the name had been taken it would have been recognised by EP from previous calls made from WHF. I think she was known by police which must have been awful for Nevill when serving as a magistrate and being known.

Thanks Bubo bubo. What a showing up! I got some right funny looks, especially from Philip and Jackie, and you should have seen Peter Tatchell's face. I wish I'd taken Adam's sage advice now. He did warn me not to turn up dressed like that but I'm just going on the case evidence. How was I supposed to know Jeremy couldn't have windsurfed on Tollesbury Road? I wish people would keep me in the loop. No wonder the CCRC don't reply to my e-mails. Oh well, it happens to the best of us!

Unless it could have been patched through because I think she went to WHF after that episode. Once the name had been taken it would have been recognised by EP from previous calls made from WHF. I think she was known by police which must have been awful for Nevill when serving as a magistrate and being known.

The "previous call made from WHF" are, I imagine, wishful thinking. I concur though, that such would go along way to tying in your belief that she was 'known' to them, but it's something I totally refute.

They, EP, only have to check their logs etc. to see what calls were made and when as all calls to police are listed whether they're false alarms or not, for future reference.

We're going back closer to 40 years, than 30. I can't see them keeping records of phone calls for that length of time. But who knows?

I wouldn't be too sure myself. I know at the hospital we used to keep case-notes longer for those who had MH issues, after discharge or if they'd died.

It's puzzling me as to why EP have kept documents from this case for so long, so considering that they have done there's bound to be medical notes from each family member otherwise what else would EP call " sensitive material " that is kept under PII ? This is done solely because of family members still being alive.

Well, IF they do, it further raises the question of how did a 999 call from Nevill become lost -within minutes- on the very night the call is alleged to have been made. JB wasn't a suspect. They hadn't even seen the crime scene. Mick has suggested that, between them, West and Bonnet decided to lose it in case it was decided to prosecute JB later. Why would they? The two people probably furthest down the pecking order were hardly the ones to take such a momentous decision. I find that idea preposterous.

Wrong as usual! There was one call only from Bamber to PC West. Not a scrap of evidence exists to the contrary.
26. PC West recorded the time of the appellant's call as 3.36 a.m. At trial it was accepted that the officer had misread a digital clock. The officer's contact with Mr Bonnett was recorded as being at 3.26 a.m. and it seems clear that the appellant's call must have been at 3.26 a.m. or very shortly before.

Despite assurances to the contrary, there doesn't seem to be a shred of evidence supporting such. There's also the point that, HAD such a call come through, the independent operator who took the call and put it through, would have recalled and recorded it. Somehow, from being seen as a cock-up being made because police wanted to frame JB, if we take it back to the first few minutes, it changes to simply being a mishandled call. Can it really be seen as being both?
