The alternative views on Simon McKay have been based upon a misunderstanding and in some cases distortion of several matters which are in themselves a matter of public record. In order to attempt to discredit Simon, solely because of his involvement pro bono in the Bamber case, disgraceful personal attacks have been made upon Simon on Lamberton's forum and the associated twitter feed. Some of these attacks are clearly defamatory and for good reason I am not going to comment on them here. The matters which have been distorted, exaggerated and used as the basis for these personal attacks are not matters which in any way reflect upon the personal integrity or abilty of Simon.
Given the number of posts on here that I have seen which basically say that an eminent high flyer such as Simon McKay would not waste his time with jeremy if he was guilty, it's to be expected that someone will eventually say "well hang on a minute, he's not so eminent or high flying as they would have us believe, here are the facts, backed up by publicly available documents."
I agree that to take it further, and especially by way of a twitter campaign is unacceptable and probably amounts to harassment. I also agree that the comments made were defamatory, but since they appear to be true they would be easy to defend.
I probably haven't read all of the comments so if you're talking about something I'be missed I apologise.
