Great post.  Although my glass is always half empty on a referral, for reasons previously stated.  I'm a pessimist when it comes to this case.  Still, I hope I'm wrong.

I'm an optimist, Rochford, perhaps the truth lies somewhere between your pessimism and my optimism?
Who was it who said 7 days is a long time in politics, or something like that? Former PM Wilson, I believe. That's very true of most campaigns too.

In so many political and protest campaigns, my lot seemed set to win or lose. Then, in the twinkling of an eye, everything changes. The recent local elections were a prime example of this. One day, one party was getting excellent canvassing returns and seemed set to to win the most wards. Then the next day, their vote began to collapse.

I've been involved with campaigns - little Davids(!) against rich and powerful Goliath affairs - which seemed unwinnable and utterly hopeless. Yet everything turned around and little David won. So I never take anything as given or set in concrete these days.

rochford  just off topic have you ever tried dock pudding. (Don,t)  They have a competition every year in Yorkshire and Sir Bernard Ingham returns to his roots to judge the thing.  Wow what an exciting life they have dock pudding makers.

The thread was pacifically set up by Mat to goad and cause trouble and nobody has bothered to do a thing about it.It will be interesting to see any abusive pm messages as Mat always says he is always in contact with the mods

It will also be interesting to see who Mat refers to as the Ist  person who is most disliked person on the forum

I have reported this to Neil and he was on the forum but chose to ignore itKeira how is your campaigning going I have been reading up on your good work today?

I can see no evidence that this thread was started to goad and cause trouble.  The opening post seemed to me to be factual and good humoured.  Maybe I am missing something?

You did report this to me Jackie and I was on the forum and yes, I chose not to take the action you requested. I saw no reason for any action.  Mat had not complained about abusive posts.  If he had done so I would have investigated and taken action as appropriate.

While I was on holiday this week I was skimming over the forum and somebody (possibly AA but I can't be sure) put a very informative history of Simon which was very interesting. I think it might be important to somehow check (not necessarily members of the forum but somebody) that the legal team have copies of all of the thousands of documents that Mike has, the thought of them missing even the shortest, least important document in such a complicated case is a worrying one.

The legal team do not have copies of all of the documents which Mike has in his possession.  Mike has made it clear that he will assist in any way he can.

You were my second guess Jackie, I figured it was somebody who had a great deal of knowledge on the case and gambled on my post!  :)

All I'm saying Susan, is that there are alternative views on Simon McKay, and aspects to his background which some would prefer not to hear about. It'll just end up in yet another battle.

The alternative views on Simon McKay have been based upon a misunderstanding and in some cases distortion of several matters which are in themselves a matter of public record.  In order to attempt to discredit Simon, solely because of his involvement pro bono in the Bamber case, disgraceful personal attacks have been made upon Simon on Lamberton's forum and the associated twitter feed.  Some of these attacks are clearly defamatory and for good reason I am not going to comment on them here.  The matters which have been distorted, exaggerated and used as the basis for these personal attacks are not matters which in any way reflect upon the personal integrity or abilty of Simon.

Are they in contact to see which they may or may not have then or do the legal team think they do not need to go through all of Mike's documents? (the tone of this post may seem aggressive but it is not, it is purely for lack of a better way of phrasing my question :) ) I'm sorry NGB, I understand you are heavily involved but I do not know your exact involvement which may explain some of my ignorance.

ngb1066  So glad you have clarified that.  I have not read the reports and have no desire to do so. I tend to go with the views of people I have faith in i.e. ngb.
