My dear ajross.  Sir Bernard Ingham was press secretary to Mrs Thatcher and virtually ran the show.  He was born in West Yorkshire to a staunch labour family and started his career as a junior journalist with a Leeds newspaper he then went on to hold a position with the Labour party then switched sides to the conservative party and ended up a VIP as he thought.  He lives in the South and bestows himself on the Yorkshire people now and again (thank goodness not to often) but we don,t really consider him to be a Yorkshire man anymore anything else you need to know just ask.

I retract my former statement, he is clearly a very wise man indeed if he lives in the South! ;)  and yes, I have lived in the North, Leeds in fact.

ajdross naughty corner for you and do you not realise you could be sent to the tower asking who is Sir Bernard Ingham (bushy eyebrows).  Your next question will be what is Dock Pudding.

Was thinking of him earlier. It doesn't look like their austerity measures are working. They cut as if it is some kind of competition between them.  As if they are saying 'look at us! We are emulating our heroes from the Thatcher administration....  I've always wanted to do this!'

Apologies for the politics.

Don't apologise, Rocky, I think most of us are sick to the back teeth of politicians. I'm a party member and political activist, but these days I only help my friends in the party.
