The ammunition is responsible for GSR.

Not the gun.   :P

Which was also purchased AFTER 1981  ;) ;D

I think what is more important is what RE  weapons removed from the farm

I'll say. There's nothing to say that the rifle which was upon Sheila was the actual murder weapon.

It also occurs to me that the ammunition needs to be Remington for David's claims.

It wasn't, it was Eley Hollow Point.

So David is talking about a different kind of ammunation altogether than the ones used in the murders.

Interestingly Eley apparently changed their primer in 1981 after filing a patent in the US (No. 4247494).

They added Barium.

Which certainly questions your assertions.

Filing a patent is not synonymous with alterations to the production line.
The patent was filed in 1981. It was not issued until 1987.

My assertions are OK. Its yours that are misleading.

My assertions are OK. Its yours that are misleading.

Unfortunately that isn't true.

You are also referring to types of bullets which were not used, you even attempt to mislead people by posting an image of a box of the wrong type of ammunition.

This is the image that you should have posted.

Speaking of boxes------why was an empty cartridge box found in the bedroom  ? Didn't "JB" have any pockets ??

This is taken from Eley's very own website:

A key example of the company's technological innovation is the ELEY Autoprime System developed by the company in the early 1980s. It remains to this day the only fully automated dry priming system in the world. Such investment in technology inevitably reflects the high levels of product and systems quality, features which are acknowledged by the company's accreditation to the ISO 9002 European standard.

http://www.eley.co.uk/news-info/about-us/history-of-eley/

And anyway, David is still referring to a different type of ammunition.

I was simply pointing out that Eley are the manufactures of .22 Remington rimfire ammunition. They are one of the same thing. Its been like that since the 1970's. (and 60s apparently)

We know that Eley Hollow Point ammunition was used, and we know that Eley developed a different type of bullet primer by at least 1981.

We also know that a scientific expert indicated the following:

Mrs Caffell's nightdress was bloodstained. When tested the blood was consistent with being her own blood. The garment was also examined for the presence of any firearm discharge residues or oil from the rifle. No such traces were found. The scientist gave evidence that there would be a strong chance of finding such residues or markings on the clothing of an individual who had fired a rifle twenty-five times.

No amount of magazine clippings is going to change that, particularly when you decide post information about a type of bullet that was not used.

Likewise, a bow and arrow is unlikely to leave GSR. Just sayin'  :P
