this is exactly the sort of statement that is both misleading and very unfair. I am sure any 24 year old would have jumped at the chance if they were given the opportunity of having thier own place by their parents. There isnt any evidence that shielas flat was luxurious or any better than jbs.

Having lived in both London and Essex id choose Essex over London anyday

Well the words in your post are important

Jeremy had a beautiful cottage furnished from expensive furniture right opposite his favourite pub where he used to eat most days (try finding something bad from the owners about Jeremy, I don't think you will)
I am sure Jeremy loved going up to London but who knows if he wanted to live there permanently

Jane tell me what you know about this lovely flat

I know how you are trying to portray things

Jackie, I'm flattered but my words are only my opinion.

I feel certain that Jeremy's cottage was -probably- beautiful. I go past it frequently. I agree that the pub is excellent and that Jeremy used it often.......................however, in order to live in his beautiful cottage, he was required to work on the farm. Effectively tying him both to his job and his parents. NOTHING will convince me that he wasn't envious of Sheila's London "pad" and it's proximity to a life he'd have preferred. Had this not been so, he'd either have let it or sold it instead of moving in to it.

I fail to see why you think my opinion of it is so important. It wasn't I who wanted to live there.

As for how you think I'm "trying to portray things", how different is it from how you try to portray Julie?

But it was LONDON. Much further away from parental control than was Goldhanger.

Possibly the FACT that he moved in there after the murders is probably a MASSIVE clue!  ;) ;D ;D

If I'm not mistaken,Sheila and Colin were in a flat in London which was grossly unsuitable because of the damp conditions and when this was pointed out it was then decided that they move to the mansions at Maida Vale courtesy of the Bambers. The area might have been " luxurious " and also the flat/apartment itself but it probably had to be furnished in accordance with its situation and social standing which would have incurred extra expense for the Bambers, though I don't know if furniture etc was provided. I know that the bills were mounting which worried Sheila, the reason why she was taking on all kinds of jobs, but neverthless her preference was still where the nightlife and partying etc were.

What I'm saying is that I doubt there was any luxury, that was people's perception of the address. Sheila and Colin were struggling.

It's certainly a very strong pointer in that direction, Caroline ^-^

Lookout, I'm not talking about the reality as seen through the eyes of those of us who are older than Jeremy was then. I'm talking about the reality of a party animal who probably saw himself as being cooped up in the country and having to flog his guts out for a piddling little cottage whilst his sister did sod all squared and idled her time away in luxury. Jeremy wouldn't have seen the down side and the bills mounting up. He'd only have seen that Sheila was in LONDON..................and away from parental control.

Oh, and just for the record, Lookout, may I remind you that, at the time we speak of, Sheila and Colin had been divorced for 6 years and were no longer living together.

I portray Julie exactly how the majority of people on this forum
Evil if she lied and evil if she had told the truth

The guilty people on here like to make Jeremy sound bad because apparently he said he 'hated his parents' something millions of people and children have said after a trivial argument yet Julie admitted saying the most evil phrase ever
If I cannot have you no one can
You are fully aware of what Julie implied !!!

Take Julie's lies and missing documents relating to her and there is NO case

Why don't you ever talk about how much Jeremy's mum adored him. Her gorgeous fit boy that had all the girls throwing themselves at him

She saw the danger with him and girls and how right she was

The guilty people don't have to make Jeremy sound bad - he's a convicted killer, we think he's guilty and he's not bad for SAYING he wanted to kill his parents, he's bad because he DID kill his parents!

Julie was a drama queen but if it OK to say you want your parents dead - it's OK to be a drama queen. It's taking it a bit far to go ahead and kill them though!

Because I've not seen evidence or heard tell that she did. Certainly I've never heard of June being overly demonstrative and definitely NOT the cloying, smothering mother you've just presented her as being.
