I wish I'd thought of that. It would have saved me wearing my laptop out on trivialities.

It reminds me of the poor sod who'd taken a " selfie " on board the second ill-fated Malaysian aircraft saying that this " was his last ". Had he known the aircraft was going to vanish into oblivion ? No,of course not. Because there had previously been a tragedy with the first flight didn't mean that another would have been imminent.
The traveller was " suggesting " it could happen,. Not saying that it would !

If your Father in law turned up dead in suspicious circumstances, then you'd recall that conversation when asked. In fact, for whatever reason it already stands out to you.

the reason it probably stands out is because I spend too much time obsessed with this case tbh  ;D- my OH never took any notice.

There you are then, there must be a distinction between saying it for effect and meaning it. However, I imagine she said it in anger to his face? Jeremy didn't do that.

Nope . She did not . He was not in the room.

There are lots of circumstances where threats are made and people do not mean them - or cruel words that are not meant . And it is easy to add too ,or embellish a situation when you are looking back in retrospect.

On their own, as a one off, I imagine, by the amount of barbs that get thrown around here, that we've all been guilty of throwing cruel -but unmeant- words at those we love. However, Jeremy, added to all his other questionable behaviours, appeared to make a career of it.

Lets take Julie out of the equation for a minute and the old "I hate my parents" statement because I still bet most of us have heard that statement at some times in our lives . How many other witnesses said they heard him threaten to kill his parents?

Mat, a small, rented cottage tied to a job he hated, whilst Sheila lived in a lovely apartment in London, MAY have contributed to Jeremy's dissatisfaction. It's been suggested, here, that a conversation took place about moving Sheila and the boys into it, but like much else that's been put forward, there's NOTHING to back it up.

I don't,or didn't see any behaviour of Jeremy's which I'd have thought was suspect. Because he's been " accused of murder " those who believe the law and jury in this case will naturally and automatically look for " behavioural " problems which he'd allegedly displayed and which also could have been mistaken for his normal/given persona.
What was his" questionable behaviour ?"

A perfectly reasonable assumption. I don't suppose anyone went into specifics with her.

Julie was obsessed with money as shown with the cheque book fraud. I expect she made it her business to know if the cottage was bought for jeremy

What I, personally, think of the flat is of no moment. It's about how JEREMY saw the flat in juxtaposition to his farmworker's cottage. If I recall, he didn't waste much time in moving into it once it became vacant.

It was either a cottage attached to the farm estate or one which had been bought specifically to house farm workers. Yes, I expect Julie asked to see details of ownership before she agreed to visit him there. Isn't that what most 20 year olds do?

Well the words in your post are important

Jeremy had a beautiful cottage furnished from expensive furniture right opposite his favourite pub where he used to eat most days (try finding something bad from the owners about Jeremy, I don't think you will)
I am sure Jeremy loved going up to London but who knows if he wanted to live there permanently

Jane tell me what you know about this lovely flat

I know how you are trying to portray things

She wasn't a normal 20 year old was she
She liked viewing dead bodies didn't she
Jeremy didn't offer to go to the morgue did he

this is exactly the sort of statement that is both misleading and very unfair. I am sure any 24 year old would have jumped at the chance if they were given the opportunity of having thier own place by their parents. There isnt any evidence that shielas flat was luxurious or any better than jbs.
