The trouble is with the toenail its been widely excepted for a few years. I think it was one of her toes that appeared to have had red varnish missing that may have caused the assumption that a piece of nail from her toe was missing....I have never seen any document to confirm this, but have seen a photo that shows there is some varnish missing from one of her toes....it could be chipped, but the photo is not clear enough in order to be able to give a more determined answer....
But how does a toe that appears to have red varnish missing - turn into a finger nail that had come off when June and Neville were scratched? (even though there were NO scratch marks on them?).
I do agree that there are things that have been believed for years that cause people to mis-remember what is fact and what is suspicion (guilters are just as guilty of it) but I don't see how in this instance toe nail varnish has turned into a full finger nail, it annoys me to be honest Patti.
Hello Patti
I remember many moons ago we discussed this but I honestly thought it was a bit of nail with varnish on it but now I guess it was just the chip of varnish. I think we discussed it with Maggie and Bridget
Yeah you're right, it was Bridget who cleared this up the first time.
No there were not notes -she was asked about that in the 1991 COLP interview. She gave the excuse that Skippy used.
Thanks, Jan. As I said, I wasn't sure & it's been a long time since I read any of the COLP.
