I see the thickheads have been out in force castigating the actor,Cumberbatch for his " posh public school background ".So much so that he's moving to the USA.
What is it with people, that when someone speaks the Queens English, they're immediately set-upon ? It really gets on my nerves, seeing thousands of pairs of  " green eyes " ! Ghastly society !

Lookout, there HAS to be more to it. I can't BELIEVE that anyone would leave the country of their birth because the way they speak is criticized or ridiculed by an ignorant few. MORE likely, he doesn't want to get typecast as an "upper echelons only" actor and feels the need to spread his wings.

April,I can imagine that Benedict is " all things English ",and as the report states, there's a culture of " posh-bashing ",which I've clearly seen on here against Jeremy. No doubt most of the scummy prisoners have had a go at him too for that reason alone too.
It's a well known fact that the Americans love the true Englishman,probably/obviously better than those in our own country do. Such as the series,Downton Abbey which gets far more of an airing in the States than it does here, because of its " Englishness ".
It's rather sad that in this actors' case, that he feels he'll be more welcomed somewhere else other than his own country, but, again, the Americans will welcome him with open arms.
I mean, how a person speaks has got nothing to do with being " posh ".What is " posh " anyway ?

Whether he liked boarding school or not, he did not achieve anything there. Doing very poorly in his exams.  Much to the dismay of Neville who had paid to send him to a top place.

Jeremy then went to college but did very poorly again.

There was only one thing for it,  Jeremy decided, - an extensive  jaunt abroad. Paid for by mummy and daddy.  He did find something he wanted to do while abroad. After finding out that deep sea diving paid good money.

June was written to and told to send to him £1,500.00p so he could take a diving course.  Which was a lot of money in the 80's.

unless he dident like it he has no reason to resent his parents for sending him there.

I bet he thanks them now for sending him there, for although he was never top of the class, what he'd learnt would have lain dormant until later years. Kids anyway don't like doing what they're told to do,and you never hear the last of their complaining, but in the long run,it's usually all for the good. Which again, they don't realise until they get older.
There never are that many children who are ever over-willing to go to their ordinary schools, and boarding school for some is no different.

We can't say that because Jeremy resented his parents for sending him to boarding school that this is the reason he murdered them. If we say that then all those that are sent to boarding school that resented it  are potential killers.   :-\ :-\ :-\

This type of comment is unfair don't you think?

If he did murder his family, I think it is fair to say that it could certainly be a factor although I can't see it being the sole reason. However, any personality issues he may suffer could be influenced by a feeling of rejection, not just once (adoption) but twice (boarding school at only 8 years of age).
Few people have the imagination for reality

I think he probably did Nugs, but not to the extent that it has been reported. It leaves it open to be added to to and twisted to suit.  ;)

They found themselves looking for things that weren't there half the time,to try and justify that they " had their man". Nothing worse than desperation !
