I don't know who could tell us that, Nugs. If he had, he may have felt too ashamed, as an adult, to mention it.

well the only way i can see him resenting his parents for sending him there is if he had a really bad time and they wouldent let him come home.

Nugs, he wouldn't be the first child at boarding school to think that his parents were the meanest people in the world.

Whether he liked boarding school or not, he did not achieve anything there. Doing very poorly in his exams.  Much to the dismay of Neville who had paid to send him to a top place.

Jeremy then went to college but did very poorly again.

There was only one thing for it,  Jeremy decided, - an extensive  jaunt abroad. Paid for by mummy and daddy.  He did find something he wanted to do while abroad. After finding out that deep sea diving paid good money.

June was written to and told to send to him £1,500.00p so he could take a diving course.  Which was a lot of money in the 80's.

Jeremy was very bitter about being sent to boarding school.

He could not understand how his parents made such a big effort to adopt him. Then sent him away at a young age

According to Mary Mugford,  he never forgave June for sending him to boarding school. They had not spoken for years. Something Jeremy has never denied.

Wilkes's book says Jeremy said he was very apprehensive about boarding school and concerned about being away from his parents at a young age. He did not like it at first,  but got used to it.

Not all academics are clever ! Some haven't got a clue about life in general, and it doesn't always mean a thing to be top at everything. What does it prove ?

Maybe if Jeremy had been clever at school,he could have flourished as the cleverest mass murderer the country had ever seen.??
He was neither clever nor crafty enough to have carried out such an atrocity !

True Lookout, also think Jeremy was more interested in girls than his studies if we (like Adam) believe everything written about him. ;)

Children who are unhappy at school invariably don't do well.

Not being unkind, but Jeremy thought about Jeremy as every young man would be the same at that age,and I agree Maggie, it was all about girls, clubs, restaurants and generally a good time as though nobody else mattered.
How many young brothers know all about what their sister's up to,or who even bothers to find out about her health.? He only repeated what others would have done when he'd said she was a " nutter ".He said it without any understanding of her condition,as his parents wouldn't have sat him down to explain about it. Yet he's been condemned for everything he's said and done.
Jeeze,he was no Crippen.!

I see the thickheads have been out in force castigating the actor,Cumberbatch for his " posh public school background ".So much so that he's moving to the USA.
What is it with people, that when someone speaks the Queens English, they're immediately set-upon ? It really gets on my nerves, seeing thousands of pairs of  " green eyes " ! Ghastly society !
