Most regions have sayings unique to the areas.  Most are amusing. Some, in dialect, are incomprehensible :D

I can't really think of any sayings that were unique to NY.  There were select words only, like we called fire hydrants johnny pumps and when I moved to NJ and referenced one people would say WTF is a johnny pump.

As for incomprehensible just pronunciation can do that. Some scottish guy was talking to us and I didn't understand one word he said, I just nodded and acted like I did. I later asked what he was saying because I don't speak Gaelic.  They laughed and said he was speaking English!

The only time I ever got so drunk I didn't remember every detail from the night before I woke up on top of a coke vending machine.  Whether I was hiding and fell asleep or decided to go to sleep up there deliberately or I was placed up there on purpose as a joke is unclear because I don't remember and no one else even supposedly knew I was there. I assume if it was a joke they would have taken credit but they professed ignorance and said I caused them grief as they searched for me which just makes it all the more strange because sticking me up there after I passed out for a joke would have been the most logical explanation...

I still don't get it.  Are you saying the other copy that is not posted here looks like it was altered completely ignoring the one here and looks altered jsut because the nature of the writing on it looking like it was changed?

Because you kept raising the different spelling of Tolleshunt as being why it looked changed which seems to be a red herring and just confusing matters if you are saying it is actually something else.

Ok two logs both look the same until you play spot the difference. The obvious one is the spelling mistake but there are others, for instance the time looks as though it has been changed. I'm not saying it was, simply that it looks that way and looking at both logs side by side - you can see that one is NOT a photo copy of the other (although it's supposed to be).
