Personally I am not claiming that RB was joking.
Barbara Wilson was the farm secretary. Don´t you think it is more likely that Ralph Bamber was referring to Jeremy´s work ethics, or lack thereof? A struggle for Ralph to make his half-spoilt son take on the workload Ralph expected of him.
In my mind that is much more likely than that R was afraid of getting killed... sounds like a far out thing to say to your secretary.
Why have people misunderstood me here? I was referring to the other two comments. I never said anything about Nevil not turning his back on Jeremy in any reference to a "joke". That saying has just been introduced by Daniel in an attempt to discredit what I said. Yet another example how things that even we ourselves say are being taken out of context. Please wake up people.

Leg pulling? Have you actually read about what context this remark was said in?
Again which remark are you talking about?

Again the word "context" comes to mind. Someone who knows the family said to me that Ann Eaton has a dry sense of humour. Having lived in the area for around 40 years I can tell you that both those sayings sound very much like the Maldon sense of humour. Now you may scoff at this. But they could very well have been joking? But of course that may also be my assumption just as you may be assuming as well. As I said, we need to know the context. But not only that. We also need to know the way it was said. Just as we do the "I can easily kill anybody" remark. I would like to know what kind of conversation those two were having that brought such remarks to mind. I'm sorry Steve, but single sentences do nothing for me unless Shakespeare said them.
Here is what I said when I was talking about Maldon dry humour. Nothing about Barabara Wilson at all. If you are going to quote me make sure you do not DELIBERATELY twist my words.

Hello Daniel

I cannot disagree with what you are saying just think if Ralph Bamber had serious doubts about Jeremy killing him he would have taken more positive steps and kept all the guns under lock and key.  I always feel it is difficult to relay a sentence to another as it can loose the context of how it was meant.  He may have been disappointed in the way Jeremy was performing on the farm and meant I will be watching him who knows I was not present at the time.  The very same Barbara Wilson seems to have stated she thought more about Jeremy than her own son.  As I have said earlier I would never be so arrogant to say what you are saying is not correct because I just don't know.  Perhaps you can give me your thoughts on where was Sheila when Jeremy was shooting June and Ralph and the twins she was not sedated we know that from the PM report and she would have fought anyone to save her boys.
OK Susan lets air this particular issue. Of course there is no hard evidence as to what occurred exactly that night in the master bedroom. We can only speculate according to the way we interpret the evidence. I really dont think there is much of a mystery there. He could have just shot everyone while Sheila slept. Nevil and June certainly were not found in the twins bedroom, and I believe they were probably shot first, but June and Nevill were not roused or at least didn't make it outside of their own bedroom before being attacked. It may well be the fight in the kitchen - which would have been noisy - that finally woke Sheila, whereupon she got up and found the carnage in the bedroom. Bamber had her trapped in a house that was locked and with no means of calling for help.
However, my speculation of how this happened is thus;
I suspect Bamber crept into the twins bedroom first and shot them while they slept. This did not arouse Sheila. The sound suppressor fitted to the rifle meant that the noise would have been minimal. Sheila's bedroom was close. He crept in and awoke her. What he told her will probably never be known, but it was enough to alarm her. It is possible that Bamber threatened to harm her children (not knowing that he had already shot them in their beds) if she did not comply. Any mother in this situation would comply. He may well have tied her or restrained her somehow; anything to hold her there until the parents were finished off. Once done he coaxed her into her parents bedroom (he needed her to be found there to back up the belief that Sheila had run amok and killed everyone) whereupon Sheila would have certainly seen the prostrate body of her mother making her completely petrified and totally compliant. I suspect that he told her to pray for June (hence the bible found at the scene) and he told her to close her eyes and lie down. He then swiftly pushed the rifle under her chin and pulled the trigger. Thinking she was dead Bamber went to survey his handiwork including the fatal mistake of putting the silencer back in the cupboard. On his return he realised to his horror that Sheila was still alive, her breathing shallow but still alive. He then shot her a second time - this time fatally.
I believe that this theory is just as plausible as any given here.

So where was the Crispy the yappy dog when Jeremy "crept" around killing people. Not a sound from him I suspect? ;)

It was a quote from Maggie if you read it properly. It said
"understand it Lugg, it sounds like affectionate leg pulling to me" Unquote

Hello all,
My name is Daniel. I am a student from good old Newcastle Upon Tyne and like to view possible miscarriages of justice. I dont think Jeremy Bamber is one of them, but I dont know that much about the case. I look forward to chatting about the case. :)

Yawn...

Yawn is about right.

Yes not a sound. The dog was found whimpering under a bed. If you were a dog in a house where someone is shooting people, I suspect that you too would be rather quiet.
I expected a little bit more of a challenge there Lugg, than an rather obvious point.

Like I said at the beginning. Same old reitterated rubbish. His arguments only consist of what he himself believes and this is so welded into his mind he finds it impossible to see any truth in what those who disagree with him say. He also has taken a high and haughty attitude with everyone he has replied to, even those who might have agreed with him on some points that not many people find him a pleasant person to discuss things with. The words that spring to my mind are "blinkered" and "prejudiced".
What an amazing coinicence Lugg!
That is EXACTLY what I thought of your posts. I am having a deja vu moment here. Cue Twilight Zone music........

If it amuses you to make facetious remarks have you ever considered that maybe you have just too much time on your hands?

You came on here under false pretenses, from a pre-fixed and immovable position, in order to bombard the forum with a cliched approach to the case.

Most of us are stretching our arms and yawning loudly...
