Perhaps it was just cathartic Patti and he felt so much better having written it that he no longer felt the need to send it OR perhaps he thought he may have been a bit heavy handed OR maybe he just chickened out. I imagine he was never less that a little intimidated by the Bamber clan.
I must admit,I have fantasised many a time about killing my mother.
Daniel, in 1985 I was convinced of Jeremy's guilt. I was also convinced that he had buried what he's done. As you pointed out a psychopath wouldn't have done this because they would not have felt the need and, as you say there are differences between those of us who bury what we can't cope with and psychopaths. After all this time in prison, had he just buried his crime, I think the mask would have slipped, much in the way as soldiers who fought during the war and never revealed the horrors they witnessed. Many of these men, now in their 90s are experiencing unspeakable nightmares. What they believed had been successfully buried is clawing it's way out. I am totally convinced that had he buried it, by now he would be experiencing, if not flashbacks, perhaps a moments recall of the pleading in his parents' eyes or something they may have said. It may cause him to catch his breath, or forget what he is saying, or cause him to be far away. It will surely have been revealed during one of the many tests that he's been subjected to.
What many tests are these april1?
Keep up Steve. Read back and you will see what tests.
Alias I often thought, if indeed Ralph Bamber uttered the words "I must never turn my back on that young man" he was referring to the fact that Jeremy's birth Father had turned his back on him he certainly did not mean he was afraid he was going to kill him he would have taken some action had he seriously thought that.
That would have been a possible interpretation of Nevill's remarks had he not also said "the shooting season's coming up..accidents do happen" and to Ann Eaton "if he buys that 12 bore shotgun we'll all have to look out."
No only is that untrue but there is no evidence of him having worn a wet suit either. It was simply something that RB thought might be a 'possibility'!!
oh steve for goodness sake those words taken totally out of context mean nothing. Neville Bamber was not a stupid man he would never have allowed Jeremy near his guns if he feared for his or anyone elses life from Jeremy.
But then again, how many parents take their children's malice so seriously that they believe their life to be in danger?
It depends Steve imo. There were a lot of guns to hand in WHF. I would have thought Neville would have at the least taken a little more care if he truly suspected Jeremy to be a threat.
