How did the defence not manage to have it struck out as inconclusive and therefore irrelevant?  Much damage might have been done to JB's chances in general, if in the run up to trial and during the investigation, the police did take this step.

I'm told that the most obvious answer is usually the correct one and the most obvious one to me is that they weren't as competent as the prosecution.

Hi Roch  perhaps the Defence were complacent as was Jeremy that the evidence was flimsy what a shock they would all get. Was Julie challenged over her evidence changing from a hitman to Jeremy being responsible for the murders.

Hi nugnug if it could be proved that Ralph phoned Jeremy at the time Jeremy said he did that would prove Jeremy did not commit the murders at WHF he was home at Goldhanger.

Was the lead detective asked in court , did you contact BT to see if they could assist in anyway ? If not why not ? If you did what was their reply to you ?

Good question Jon...One I would certainly have asked.  :) :)

I have emailed BT Archives to ask if in 1985 the technology was available to acquire a list of calls made from a domestic address. I will post the reply. I haven't told them why I would like to know - thought it best not to.

Good luck with that Caroline. I contacted the Met Office to see if the moon was out that night and to double check if the night was a clear one...They wanted a weeks wage, for doing the research..but, we did determine that the night was clear and it was the last quarter moon... :) :)

Roch, I really think it came down to whose personality was portrayed as being most attractive to the jury. They had the choice of a lovely dead girl who had been a loving mother with a controlled mental problem or a rather arrogant young man showing no signs of grief or humility.

I totally agree with you there april. It's a case of who is the best actor and who grabs your attention... :) :) :) :)

Hi Patti  how are you  I don't think Jeremy did himself any favours in the Court room I think he was so sure he would walk.  Had he been guilty he could have had the jury eating out of his hands with those good looks and beautiful eyes Maggie just loves Jeremy's eyes :)

Hi Susan, of course he could have had them eating out of his hands. JM claimed he told her he was a good actor....If he had been he would have mimicked Julie with a set of tissues...

Jeremy never told me his was guilty, he never admitted to me that he had killed his family...Someone paid her 25k for saying that... :) :) :) :)

Hi Patti  I have never been able to understand that at all.  Bridget gave me an explanation about it and I am still trying to work that one out.  What do you think about Caroline's theory certainly explains all the 3,s.

I would have assumed that both the prosecution and defence would have looked into the alleged phonecall from WHF to JB in Goldhanger. The 2002 appeal document says the technology was unavailable. Looks like everyone has been deceived.
