Given Jeremy admitted to doing this one could argue that by doing this and admitting to doing it he could / would eliminate any forensic evidence there may have been in relation to the said window. In my opinion I do agree with your statment that it probably did not do him much good in terms of the jury who eventually found him guilty on a verdict of 10-2.

Apparently any less than 10-2 and he would not have been convicted.
Thanks for your response.  I'm a bit dubious about the 10-2 argument.  It is used by some to suggest that the jury were unconvinced,  but there is nothing to say that those 10 members weren't utterly convinced! We don't know what went on in that jury room!

Thanks Auntie,  I must look up this Smith character.

One only has to look at the previous submissions.....and this one even more so!

The evidence in all it's glory is there....for his conviction to be deemed unsafe.  He at least deserves to have this case reviewed publicly.

But this was never to be the case - ever!

The CCRC are not stupid.....they are neither blind.....however, Ewan Smith was put at the CCRC to ensure any future attempts by Jeremy, fail.

The history is there for all to see.......not for a second did I think he was coming home!

I have always been of the opinion that Jeremy, if guilty, was very foolish in not accepting the keys to WHF when they were offered to him by Essex Police. I guess only Jeremy knows why he did not accept them given he was allegedly already very suspicious / wary of his relatives. Maybe because of all the press articles regarding 4 murders and a suicide he was of the opinion it was all done and dusted and he had got away with it all.......... in other words being too complacent......... maybe even a little too confident and arrogant (as has been reported re his personalitiy).

I guess only Jeremy really knows as would appear to be quite common in this case.
Well at this time the relatives may have been forming the view they will have the keys when the keys did not work enter the silencer.

Maybe maggie, but I'm sure there were equivalent legal bods supporting Adrian Prout until recently  :-\
Maybe Bob. But this forum didn't support him.

Maggie. I'm not old, nor am I an amatuer sleuth.
Mat, if Bob Woffendin is your friend what made him suddenly change his mind after so many years of supporting Jeremy? To my mind his decision was based entirely on old evidence that he had researched before. Doesn't this cause you to doubt his reliability?

Or of course it just points to his innocence?

Jeremy had just lost his whole family, the lad was in shock. I would have thought entering that house was the last thing on his mind.  Jeremy would have wanted to forget what had happened and wiped it out of his mind.....

I remember him saying to a police officer....I want to see my dad.........why won't my dad come out and talk to me......The officer said your dad is dead....but why wont he come out to me and talk....i want to see him.

Night. :)

I would have thought that the fact BW mentioned a "wetsuit" in his article, gave you a clue to whom he had been previously speaking with prior to penning that article  ::)

Well spotted, Tyler! Also, Steve Battram has been blogging on Woffinden's site. Though I would have expected Woffinden to have the sense to see through Battram.

There really is a belief, Patti that if your Dad is your adoptive Dad that he has less presedence than your 'natural' dad.  This is something that I would argue against, taking Sheila out of the equation.Girls/women have different needs. but Jeremy needed his dad. I do get angry when people think that an adoptive dad/mum cannot raise those feelings in a Dad.

Mat what is the point of a polygraph test if they are not reliable just a waste of money ah but if he had failed you would have said I told you he was guilty

Maggie  if he had been guilty he would not have been stupid enough to admit he often entered the house via a window and tell them how he opened it.
