I'm surprised that somebody like yourself, who in all other cases is obsessed with scene of the crime evidence (or as you always pompously write it: SOC) did not respond to the allegations of lack of Holly and Jessica's DNA in the house or in the car, why the cadaver dog didn't react to Huntley, why he wasn't picked up on CCTV if the bodies were dumped close to the airforce base, why he didn't dispose of the Manchester United shirts elsewhere, why the mechanic didn't recognize Huntley.

Of course, Huntley is guilty and it was a wicked crime. But it was still a well-written article.

SOC's are not a one size fits all.  Victims' and/or perps' dna is not always found at soc based on a variety of factors.  Consider the case of the late Joan Albert; SH's dna was not found at soc.  IH went to considerable lengths cleaning up inside the property.  Fibres from the ManUtd shirts were found inside the property and IH's car.  Why would the cadaver dogs have reacted to IH?

There are over 8 billion people on planet earth.  It seems obvious to me there will be fringe elements all over the place along with the totally misguided.

Jurors did not get to hear about most of his previous.  They did hear about one case.  I am not sure about the basis ie what was heard and what wasn't.

He didn't have any previous convictions he had been investigated by Humberside police and social services on numerous occasions. He had also been charged with rape but the case was discontinued.

The investigation prior to Soham would have never gone before a jury as they were just allegations and would have been predjuicial ngb perhaps can confirm the reasons.

I actually tend to think Maxine was just another one of Huntleys victims.

She was in Grimsby visiting relatives when he killed the girls. The prosecution and Huntleys own mother believe that the furious phonecall he had had prior to seeing the girls was the catalyst. He was a control freak.

Maxine was in Grimsby at the time of the murders. She played no direct involvement.

Personally I believe she wasn't aware that Huntley was responsible. However I guess we will never know.

I read Holly Wells fathers book. Huntley actually approached him and rubbed him on the shoulder during the searches and told him " I didn't know it was your daughter I hope she turns up ok"
