Was the wallet brought up at trial ? I don't think it was was it?
If Jeremy is innocent would he recall in fairness a conversation about the wallet with Ann Eaton in 1985 somewhat 28 years later in correspondance with Zoso?
If he had been challenged upon this in cross examination then yes I would except him to have a ready answer. Of course he will have seen and studied the statements off Ann eaton and the wallet instance but if it didn't seem detrimental to him maybe he forgot about it?
Of course if he is gulity, it does provide an uncomfortable question to him.
I can imagine him making a guesswork of how much cash was in the wallet. An exact amount however invites the conclusion that he possibly did rifle through it
No, not brought up at trial. These are my thoughts on the case and things that bugged/bugs me. No one else has to agree, I know what I asked and and how he avoided answering the actual question and for how long. I have never sought the approval of anyone else on this, I simply shared the info as a topic for debate.
If he didn't remember the conversation, then that's all he had to say but he didn't. He played some silly game. However, before I stopped writing, he must have forgotten I had asked about the wallet and recounted basically what Ann said in her statement - he mentioned it to tell me how pissed off he was at Ann for not telling hm where it went and thought she must have been gloating. So, he did remember, he just didn't want to tell me how he knew how much was in it.
Like I said, no one has to agree but given his behaviour, I'm pretty sure he did rifle through but the 'guesswork' is Ann Eaton's recollection - it could be that she didn't remember whether he said 4 or 5 hundred pounds. Either way, he did a LOT of avoiding.
