Sheila's medical history etc.

What's so frightening about Sheila's medical history that it must be preserved as secret until the end of time? How could the defence use something that was irrelevant?

Credible in what sense Dave?

He wasn't a witness in the trial

He was just a friend of jeremys who spent a significant time in his company post events until arrest at Dover

Stuff he has said recently. Based on what I have heard about the pod cast he was on, I don't find him credible.

Thanks handyman, have read the Brett Collins article at the beggining of the topic and everyone's comments, very interesting, although not much mention of antiques, seems Brett must have simply had an amateur interest by the look of things,no actual proffesional expertise.

One things for sure,Brett has no idea if Bamber is guilty or not.

Yes I'd go along with that, best to look at Brett as being irrelevant and only interested in what he can gain from the outcome. The guilty verdict was a bad outcome for Brett.

Jeremy & Brett may have been close but Brett really only had a brief friendship with Jeremy.

Brett was another untrustworthy character who ran with the hare and hunted with the hounds.

I also concur that he's more than likely added a touch of his own revisionm

Wonder why Brett wasn't called as a character witness?

Maybe because he wasn't a UK national or resident?

I know character witnesses from experience are more a formality than anything else. But Jeremy's seemed weak

In the sense of s snooker hall owners whose premises he frequented and the other was a rep wasn't it?

Yes.

A snooker hall owner called Paul Osborne. Where Jeremy was a regular customer.

Also a farm rep whos name escapes me. He visited WHF and said " he got on well with Jeremy and found him out his family easiest to deal with "

The latter of course out of the family would have only dealt with Nevill or Jeremy. So he obviously preferred jeremy to nevill I gather.

A couple of years ago or so, it was mentioned that there were (I think) 14 statements provided to police that never saw the light of day. So they cannot be damning towards JB, otherwise we would know about them and Steve would be all over them.

Why wasn't the local newsagent a character witness?

I'm sure Jeremy would have said 'good morning' to him once.

To be honest there a little more than a formality

In lesser cases they hold more weight. In a x5 murder trial little significance

Mentioned by who and if they never saw the light of day, how did said person know about them?

Tbh, I just can't remember who or where it was mentioned. I don't even know if I have the number of statements correct. But within case documentation there are references to documents that have previously existed. That's one of the reasons they know stuff is missing. There are also statements from social workers missing, if I remember correctly.
