This week figures showed growth up and inflation down.  Is this just a fluke and/or a bit of luck or are the policies of KS and RR working?

I think KS should be given another couple of years and if there's no continual improvement in everything then time to consider a change.

Little bit of a 'get out of jail card' for KS.  I assume the figs do not reflect illegal migrants:

He needs to come out now and start beating the drum hard:

- Growth up
- Inflation down
- Migration down

The Ofgem price cap will rise, plus there's the effects of the Iran war, so inflation has not been tamed. As for immigration, nobody believes the figures anymore. In any case, 246,000 Brits left.

Don't think there should be a coronation if Burnham wins the by election. He is not Gordon Brown.

Should go to the vote which could have 5 candidates.

Yes, interesting. The election of a new Prime Minister could drag on for months.

Adam, did you ever visit Wigan by any chance..https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/newsmanchester/labour-has-dominated-wigan-since-adam-was-a-lad-but-that-could-be-about-to-change/ar-AA2290Nb?uxmode=ruby&ocid=edgntpruby&pc=U531&cvid=69f4a10142bc40f39e99294c93d49f1b&ei=10

Starmer won the vote to be Labour leader. Was then prepared to resign if proven he had broken Covid rules. Then won the election.

He is not going to resign because of poor local elections. Streeting & Burnham will want him to as it gives them the chance to make a huge career leap to become PM.

People wanted Blair to resign after poor local elections in 2004. He won another election.

Neither Burnham or Streeting have said what they would have done differently in the last 2 years. Or in the future.

It is more a case of a new face may give them more chance of winning the next election. But neither are a Blair or Boris. Streeting even reminds me of a young Starmer with his monotone voice.

Is Burnham not going to wear suits at number 10? Assume he can afford a few Bironi's

Seems to be doing a Simon Cowell & trying to look smart/casual in black t shirt & zip jacket.

Football managers rarely wear suits. Although they are the face of multi million pound clubs. Assume they can afford a few Armani's.Even on Cup Final day they are in there JD Sport tracksuits.

Scruffy.

I would put money on Starmer not being Prime Minister by the time of the Labour Party Conference in September.

Ashton-in-Makerfield is a relatively poor area, Adam. I'm sure Andy will smarten up once he reaches Number 10.
