I know she's a Mancunian and I also know she apologized for the remarks, but couldn't they find someone to be Deputy Leader who didn't once dismiss the grooming gangs scandal as "dog whistle politics"? https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/lucy-powell-dog-whistle-grooming-gangs-b2744592.html

You and I disagree on almost everything Steve but I suspect we both agree that Starmer is a disaster and neither of us would cry at him losing his seat at the nest general election.

That wouldn’t surprise me if it happened, maybe they will find some loop hole to cancel or postpone the next General Election to save his seat NGB?

Don't see why Starmer should go.

He did the hard yards as opposition leader. Then won a landslide. Labour will do badly in the local elections as people will protest vote. Even the Green Party did well.

Won't get a landslide next time but could still win. But some MP's are worried about losing there jobs.

Well, if he thinks bringing back Gordon Brown and Harriet Harmon as advisors will help he is sadly mistaken.

Blair won a landslide in 97. Then won two more.

Think Starmer has another win in him. Would have been looking for a 10 year stint when he won.

Believe it is still two main parties. The Conservatives won't be ready next time.

The working classes are turning to Reform. Why do you think Tameside, home to Angela Rayner (until she moves to Hove) lost all its Labour councillors? Plus, the North has been used as a dumping ground for immigrants who have crossed several safe countries and broken into England. Starmer has done very little. What does the guy stand for? Maybe Roch can post the Peter Oborne video again.

Will see who the public turn to at the next general election. Thought everyone was moving to the SDP in the 80's.

Don't see how you can call getting one third of the vote a 'landslide'.

At least KS's football team are doing well.

I find all this constant challenging the leader of the elected party intensely irritating.  KS has a mandate for 5 years.  Unless he is found guilty of some serious crime and/or he is mentally/physically unable to continue then his leadership should not be challenged imo.  The party need to rally round him not stab him in the back!  If he is replaced the successor will face the same issues.
