In that case, it sounds as if someone went to the trouble of putting it in a box in the most inaccessible part of the cupboard at some point.
Thats how I view it as well Kaldin. It would have been left out if it was used often, it was Summer with lots of vermin about and would be more needed for shooting along with the sights.  Not packed away at the back of the cupboard.

Pargeter backs this up as well as Bamber, the week before he seen the rifle with scope and silencer attached leaning up inside the gun cupboard?  So obviously it was an item used very often and wouldn’t be pushed at the back of an under stairs cupboard.  It wasn’t as though it was dangerous and needed to be put away, the house wasn’t tidy anyway.

Jeremy said that he "sometimes" used the gun with the silencer attached, and he also said that he often removed the silencer. There's a bit of a contradiction there.

Hi Kaldin I think they had more than one silencer they did not rely on the one we are talking about

Youve missed an important bit out, he was asked if he had removed the silencer from the weekend before and up to the murders, he says “ I think yes two or three times”   So I’m saying it was an item often used.

Yes, I've read stuff about that, and it mainly seems to stem from the changing of the exhibit references. I can't really follow it all tbh.

Yes, I know. He seemed to be fond of removing the silencer. I don't know if that means someone else kept attaching the silencer and Jeremy kept removing it, or if Jeremy did use the silencer and habitually removed it after using it.

It fit in the gun cupboard with it on but not in the bag, by all accounts I don’t think it went in the bag often because pargeter saw it out of the bag, when Bamber used it the night previous it wasn’t in the bag and he didn’t put it back in the bag?

Hes only asked if he removed the silencer, not how many times he put it on, so he could have put it on as many times as well?

Didn't Pargetter see it on the rifle?

Yes, he could. It's not very clear what he meant.

Was there any other silencer milling around, for use at the farmhouse?

Im not saying this could be right, but DNA wasn’t around, fingerprinting was the main forensics at the time possibly, maybe Jeremy focused more on his fingerprints than any blood smears and didn’t give much thought to this?  Just a thought

I dunno about that. His fingerprints would be expected to be on it really.
