I used to live next door but one to an Army Major who served in India and who also grew poppies for medicinal purposes ! In between working I used to go to his house and help him and his wife as they were both elderly. One of their friend's was a chemist who used to supply a morphine based painkiller to ease the pain which the old Major suffered.
This same man was also a gentleman who was popular, respected and well thought of in many walks of life.

Why must the growing of poppies be seen as a crime before you know the real reason ?

When attempts are being made to make it look like one BEFORE any other possible reason is given. However, HAD this been the legitimate reason for the -alleged- poppies to be grown, there'd have been no need to devote a field to their production -and risk supplying neighbouring counties- NOR would there have been the need for secrecy. I find it interesting that whilst Nevill's back problem is laboured here, not ONE of those I know, who knew him, have EVER made mention of his having a back problem. I would have thought at least SOME of those who'd known him and June for more than 30 years, would have known there was a problem.

A field ? It was probably an area no bigger than a postage stamp. ::)

Irrelevant of area, unless they were grown in a tunnel, he'd have been 'sharing' illegal seed with the surrounding area.

::) I had a clump of the Major's poppies in my garden. They weren't in any " tunnel ",nor were Nevill's by all accounts--------just in a small patch I'd have said, which is relevant when it was purported to have been grown as a full crop.

This isn't about you or the Major. Strangely, it's strayed quite a long way from Jeremy. However, it does seem to have landed at the feet of his entirely innocent father to involve him -now, apparently, legitimately- in an erroneous connection with drug producing poppies, to counter what we KNOW to be Jeremy's own drug dealings.

What about Julie's drug involvements before she met Jeremy ? Bringing back Lord knows what from Canada.

Had Julie known the guy she married while going out with Jeremy ? Why Canada ? Then why Australia where she met her husband before flying back to Canada to eventually marry in the UK then onto Canada ?

This is something else you keep plugging, isn't it. Well, how about showing some evidence for it. She was at school until she was 17+ and went straight to university, having to take part time work to fund herself. From where, and HOW do you think she managed to get time or finances to make such a trip?

That's as maybe sami but this particular argument has always been about JB " supplying ". Before you can supply anything, there are always those who also ask about the availability. These are the ones who aren't mentioned while JB is constantly being slammed for growing and supplying.
If there'd been no takers, then the point of growing the stuff would indeed have been pointless.
yes i would have to agree with that

Unless you're memory is seriously failing you, you may rest assured that this has been chewed over -PROBABLY with you having instigated it- time and time again. I have no idea of the distance, in miles, from Canada to Australia, but I guess if we can travel there from England, Canadians are equally capable of making the trip. I see NO reason why she shouldn't marry a Canadian in a village local to her home before starting a new life with him in his home country and presumably where he had his career.

Oh,so you can't answer the questions so you sidetrack once again. There's nothing wrong with my memory either as I haven't changed my mind like you have to forget what you said in the first place. A bit like that plonker,Woffinden who's changed his mind no less than 3 times------and calls himself a journo.Really ?

No idea as the focus has remained on JB and his " cultivations ",but she did bring drugs to the UK from Canada. I doubt anyone wants to discuss this as it " won't be relevant " because neither knew each other at that time.

Oh, before she met Jeremy, thanks Lookout.  Makes you wonder what Goes through their mind, I would be nervous and customs would tell with me, you’ve got to have nerves of steel for that game surely?
