The relatives, the police, and the prosecution's Lab' experts, misled the court about the find, hand over, and the examination of 'the silencer'. The court was fooled into accepting that the blood evidence and the paint evidence associated with the Sound Moderator, was unique and that there was no possibility of deliberate contamination on the part of one party or another! Yet, what we now find, is that cops handed back the Sound Moderator, on some as yet unidentified date prior to the 11th September 1985, to enable Ann Eaton, as she was at pains to do, to hand 'that' Sound Moderator back to the police, by which stage 'it' had been contaminated with paint from the kitchen aga!
Everything points to the relatives having deliberately contaminated the Sound Moderator with paint from the kitchen aga surround - they faked the scratch marks on the aga surround one month after the tragedy, so that the Sound Moderator evidence could be relied upon to help convict Jeremy Bamber of these murders, and for the relatives to 'get their greedy hands' on the Bamber parents estates, and a further half share of Mabel Speakmans inheritance, which would in normal circumstances, in the grand scheme of things have gone to Jeremy Bamber as the beneficiary!
