Adam has claimed that the Boutflours were really wealthy, which is untrue.
When David was asked he said all the money is gone. How?
If the Boutflours were so rich where did the money go in such a short space of time?
The fact is the family were beholden to Neville, and with JB in charge they were going to be sunk.
It is no secret that JB disliked the Boutflours and the feelings were mutual.
Neville had already bought ground from under the Boutflours feet which caused a punch up with Neville.
It was imperative that JB was out of the equation.
I am sure the cops never knew of this, and were spoonfed by the family, and Sherlock Jones fell for it.
Buddy, perhaps we could look at this from a different angle?
Wealth is relative. The Boutflours, I think, were probably wealthy, but compared with the Bambers, just not "really" wealthy.
David said the money was gone. OF COURSE the money was gone!!! That sort of money isn't kept in a bank account. It becomes property/land. It's feed into business's. It will be placed somewhere which will bring good returns. But NOT necessarily where hands can be laid on it at a minute's notice.
I think you're probably correct in that it was Nevill's family who held REAL wealth. It's likely that RWB was more of an academic than someone who had business acumen, but it doesn't mean he was a pauper. I'm comfortably certain that RWB secretly seethed every time he had a good idea which Nevill could afford to carry out. I believe there was rivalry there. I've already laid out reasons why I feel they so disliked Jeremy.
