I think there's a tinge of nerves in his mannerisms.  There's a reason why he's often bluffing it out in the media.  He's a stakeholder in Jeremy's conviction - and quite a big one (due to his actions).  He's trying to convince the audience that is the public, that there was and is a soundness to Jeremy's conviction - but his motivation for doing so is self-preservation.  It's an attempt at justifying himself.

I don't know.  But your repeated fascination with this particular question intrigues me.

I don't think David was ever the strong one in the family. Ann definitely came over as being the proverbial "chip off the old block" but David  -since his father's illness and death- has been pushed into position of spokesperson. It clearly doesn't sit easily with him.

I don't have any evidence that indicates either police or relatives instigated the sound moderator 'fraud'.  I suspect the relatives' sought advice via Stan Jones, who would in turn have been able to consult Ron Cook. Perhaps pointers were conveyed by police to relatives and thus a plan of action was concocted.

That doesn't have anything to do with it - once or one hundred would make it easier if he isn't comfortable. The man looks uncomfortable and has a slight stutter. It's easy to see why he might not like being a spokesperson.

I absolutely agree with everything written in this post.  Didn't he also quote somewhere 'all the money had been spent anyway'
