Did they buy the house for Jeremy or was it a farm cottage they already owned?

According to JM's statement:

In April 1984 Jeremy moved into 9 Head Street, Goldhanger. This house was purchased for him by his parents. We continued our friendship and in Easter 1984 I spent all the School holiday at Jeremy's house. I decorated the house whilst he was working on the farm.

Just because it's in JM's statement I know doesn't make it the truth.

In which case, how was it possible for Nevill to move the previous tenants -his employee- out in order for Jeremy to live there?

Perhaps Julie just assumed it was purchased just before Jeremy moved in?

A perfectly reasonable assumption. I don't suppose anyone went into specifics with her.

It may have been purchased for Jeremy when he was young and rented out until he needed it.

With nothing else to go on, that's what I would have assumed and if someone was turfed out in order for me to move in (not that I would let that happen), I wouldn't publicise it.

MPP(my personal psychopath) led me to believe the house was his -not entirely UNtrue- but his parents had bought it and they'd kept it in their name.

Are there tape recordings that can be bought in written form? Was it all taped ?

Normally at that time there was a stenographer or shorthand writer in court throughout the trial.  The shorthand notes are retained and it is possible to get transcripts prepared from them, but it is a very expensive process, which is why only the relevant portions of evidence and the judge's summing up are written up as a full transcript.

Thanks for that info - can see why it would be expensive

I might be imagining it but I thought Jeremy said he lived there rent free?

Is there a specific location where people think it's cool to say they hate their parents? However, I'm sure if the parents of the people you know who 'say it a lot' ended up murdered, it might give you food for thought.

Well my mother in law threatened to kill my father in law  in full view of 5 people the other day and she was serious :o  That was quite scary - so yes I have parked that for future reference .

If your Father in law turned up dead in suspicious circumstances, then you'd recall that conversation when asked. In fact, for whatever reason it already stands out to you.

There you are then, there must be a distinction between saying it for effect and meaning it. However, I imagine she said it in anger to his face? Jeremy didn't do that.
