i find it hard to belive he would use exactly the same words in 2 different conversations bettwen 2 very different people.

Fielder's and The Sun's confidence in the what happened suggests they had a tape recording.

They published a story discrediting a man who had just lost his family. They wouldn't make up the story just to sell a few more copies. Not that it would. The hype had died down.
