I cannot agree that anyone is 'desperate' to prove JB's innocence, unless they are in some way emotionally attached to him and I don't believe most supporters or people unsure one way or the other, are emotionally attached to him, have never met him and are never likely to. It is just difference of opinion imo.
There is nothing biased or illogical about disbelieving anything the Sun newspaper prints and with respect scipio you live in the USA and are not maybe quite as clued up about that rag, especially back in the 1980s.
I can see there is a valid argument from Colin's account in his book but you need to also accept there is a valid argument that the Sun lied, that's what they did, they lied for the police and for the government, small wonder people aren't happy to take anything they wrote as a truth.
I see many people emotionally attached to their belief he is innocent. They base their position on the belief that a crazy person would commit murder not someone like Jeremy and ignore all the evidence which establishes his guilt. Out of desperation they attach the police and mention any wrongdoing done in other cases to try to pretend the police did wrong in this case though there is no evidence of wrongdoing in this case only other cases. The same exact thing is being done with the Sun saying they posted false things in the past so they refuse to believe the Sun could be telling the truth though it is not credible that the Sun invented he had nude pics and tried to sell them. It is all part of the desire not to face they have been conned by Jeremy in their initial assessments of Jeremy's innocence.
I initially thought maybe Jeremy was innocent based on all the claims made by Bamber's campaign team but I didn't accept the claims as Gospel and decide he definitely was innocent. I researched to see if indeed he was thus I had no emotional attachment to him being innocent. All the spectacular claims fell apart on scrutiny from the claim Sheila was seen alive in the house while police were there, to the claim the gun was seen in the window to the claim the police moved Sheila's body, to the claim there were 2 bodies in the kitchen, to the claim they were having a conversation with people inside the house, to the claim SBJ/1, DB/1 and DRB/1 were 3 different moderators, to the claim there is evidence Nevill phoned 999, to claims there is proof Sheila's blood was wet and her injuries were delivered not long from the time of the raid, to the claim Sheila's medicine ran out, to...
All the things cited that had potential of establishing Sheila really didn't do it all turned out to be lies and nonsense. The official site doesn't go through all the evidence against Jeremy and once one actually sees the evidence it becomes clear the campaign team doesn't attack any of it head on but rather tries to dance around it and hopes people won't be aware of it and will simply believe the smoke and mirrors.
Some Jeremy supporters are the ones actively engaging in the deceptions. Others simply were taken in by such and much like the women who appeared on the Dr Phil show who didn't want to admit they were taken in by Nigerian con-artists and still insisted the men were "real", we see a number of Jeremy supporters trying anything to try to avoid admitting they were taken in and now see that.
