Run up to No 10
« on: May 02, 2015, 12:04:PM »
Never been interested in politics, but this time I have been watching the odd debate on television and I've been more interested than I have been before.

My family have always been labour supporters, so I have always followed suit apart from the one time I voted for Margaret Thatcher.

Labours Manifesto is to balance the books....

5000 new care workers
GP appointments within 48hrs
School leavers to be guaranteed apprenticeships who attain their grades.
Abolish zero contracts
Reduce tuition fees from 8000 to 6000
Reduce national debt
Tax an extra 50p on incomes over 150.000
Increase the minimum wage to 8.00 by October 2019
Doubling paternity leave from 2 weeks to 4 weeks from 140.00 to 260.00 per week
Increasing child free child care from 15hrs to 25hrs
Freezing energy bills until 2017
8000 more GP's
20,000 more nurses
3000 more midwives (funded by the mansion tax)
Stop paying winter fuel to the richest 5% of pensioners
Stop Free TV Licence to  the richest 5% of pensioners
Stop free bus passes to  the richest 5% of pensioners
Cap child benefit for 2 years
Tax on property worth over 2 million ( This will raise 2.5 billion for the NHS)
200,000 new homes by 2020
Cap tenancy for 3 years
Homelessness (nothing structural in place)
Abolish Bedroom Tax
Immigrants to live here two years before they can claim benefits.

We will maintain the money going into schools
Create 3 million apprenticeships
Extend the right to buy
Build 200.000 new stater homes
30 hours free child care
We will not raise VAT
Tax will raise 40p income threshold to 50.000
Continue to raise basic state pension by at least 2.5%
Improve the speed of trains and cycle routes
Rail fares frozen for a full term in government
Cap overall welfare spending
Roll out Universal Credits ( This is piloted and should have already been rolled out, but it has major flaws)
Clamp down on illegal immigrants and the abuse of minimum wage????
Develop a fund to help local areas and public services.
Spend 8 billion on the NHS by 2020
Ensure 75 year olds get a same day appointment with a GP
Keep our museums and art galleries free to enter
Freeze the TV licence
Invest in cleaner water and air
Extend the right to buy
Introduce a new Blue Belt scheme to protect our marine habitats.

I like Natalie Bennett Nugs I also like Nicola Sturgeon.

I'm not sure who I am voting for yet.
Millaband has got the edge for me, thus being the abolishing of the cruel and unjust bedroom tax.  It does not effect me, but it effects the poorest in our Country, so based on that alone I might vote for Ed.

Cameron is not giving us much...I don't like the idea of our doctors working 7 days a week.  >:(

There are a few things I disagree with scraping the human rights act is one of them and 7 day a week access to our doctors. Our doctors are stretched as it and to abolish the HRA is a statement that they are no longer wanting the powers of a ECHR to decide whether the UK has ignored section 7 or what ever...lol

Don't know what I am talking about, but I know what I mean...lol

I don't bother reading the manifesto's as no party can stick to their promises .

David Cameron and George Osborne are the most competent with the economy and in general

Nicola Sturgeon is a career politician she went straight from uni into the SNP she has never actually experienced the real world. Same goes for Ed Milliband most left wing politicians have never actually worked in an Industry or Business.

I wont be too fussed if Milliband wins because the Labour Party is just the Tory Party under a façade of socialism, Then Boris Johnston will most probably be opposition leader

That is the problem with many politicians, they have no idea what real life is about, they just live in their protected bubble-life of privilege they give themselves.

An example from Denmark: The age to become a pensioner has been hightened and will be hightened further to close to 70 years old. At the same time, POLITICIANS can retire when they are 60, they don´t want to change that!!

At least Ed Milliband went to a London Comprehensive school unlike the other ones you mention ......... all Eton boys.  The nightmare of Boris Johnson as leader of any party fills me with horror.

I had a woman from the Labour party knock the other day,and she was busy telling me all that they planned to do and rattled off a " shopping list "of what they were going to do,so I asked her why these things have to wait for an election before they're implemented. Off she scuttled, ignorant pig.
Then it was time, the other day,for a Conservative candidate ( good job it wasn't Esther McVey as I can't stand her ) so I asked him the same question, why wait for a general election before you wake up to see what's happening to the country, etc etc. Hadn't got time to explain,so off he went.
These guys don't like confrontation. Then I insulted him and said I wasn't going to vote for a bunch of overgrown public school boys, not even UKIP because he was a banker ( at least I think I've got that right ) So---------------there's nobody else left since the Raving Loony Party got disbanded. ;D ;D ;D ;D
