June:

Advantages:

She was already there.

She was an adult. Probably as physically strong as Sheila.

She was Sheila's mother. Even if Sheila didn't like her, she may have listened to her mother. Especially if June is agreeing with Neville.

June would have had a good idea about Sheila's illness. The medical bills were costing enough.

Getting June for assistance also protects June. Which is better than leaving her asleep and defenceless.

June can protect the twins while Neville rings Jeremy.

June will want to help resolve the situation. She was a mother, wife and grandmother and joint head of the household. Her attachment and love to people inside WHF was stronger than Jeremy's.

It was easy to wake June. A lot easier than relying on a phone call.

June may have woken anyway.

Jeremy

Advantages:

Any suggestions ?

On the presumption of innocence the best advantage for Jeremy is that is would certainly still be alive

Hi Susan, yes I'm well thankyou.Hope you are too.

There is far more to these murders than just saying " he did it ". This has been the easiest way out for all concerned, but there's more to it than meets the eye and what will eventually come out into the open won't surprise me at all.

Lookout I do agree with you in that we are all in the dark about so much even the crime scene photo's etc. are they selective.  If June's and Sheila's nightware and Ralphs were available to us we could learn so much from them plus the bedroom carpet. None of us really have a clue what actually happened in that house on the night of the murders and I ask myself will we ever know the truth.

Let's not forget in all this that June herself had suffered severe depression in 1959 which resulted in her having ECT therapy, then again in 1983. Sheila had been adopted in 1958,so a bad start for a child who was also to suffer later on,and whose mother's condition was pretty delicate to face the ups and downs of bringing up a child.

I think there was a battle between the two women on the night of the murders.

In nearly all domestic tragedies,it states that " the person suffered from depression ".
Severe depression is deadly in whatever form it manifests itself. Two women in the household suffered.

lookout I agree severe depression is dreadful and can lead to people doing tragic things.

This is what convinced me right from the start that Jeremy played no part in his family's deaths.

People 30 years ago didn't believe in the fact that women could kill. Nowadays, the same case would take on an entirely different view and verdict.

Your logic is nonexistent.  You decided to ignore all the evidence and just believe that Sheila did it regardless of the fact she can't have shot herself and that the physical evidence establishes she did nothing.

You then try to defend your illogic with the strawman that people just doubt Sheila did it because she is a woman.

Instead of assessing the evidence you simply decided from the outset Sheila did it end of story and anytime people bring up evidence you just close your eyes and ears and pretending it doesn't exist.

I'm not forgetting I a merely pointing out how your opinion is not based on evidence. You prejudged the case and refuse to reconsider your position based on evidence you failed to consider when you prejudged.

As far as I'm concerned, there's no evidence pinning Jeremy to the crime, but there's plenty when you look at Sheila's background. Which is your trouble, you've followed the crowd, made your rash decision, and haven't studied beyond that.
The picture is far bigger than what you've painted it.
