"One of Us: The Story of Anders Breivik"
« on: March 01, 2015, 03:35:PM »
Much as his heinous crime, and what he did to all those innocent people, reduced me to tears, so, to, did this latest biography of him.

The author, Asne Seierstad tells us "................. his mother, a paranoid schizophrenic, as was HER mother, says that whilst in the womb "It's as if he kicks me almost on purpose, to torment." She couldn't handle seven days a week him so farmed him out to a young couple at weekends with the request that Anders be allowed to touch his "weekend" father's penis because having no regular father figure it was important for his sexuality. From the start, young Breivik appears to have been preternaturally unlovable.....................he took no joy in life, with no spontaneity and no capacity for empathy............."Aggressive and nasty with it" read his case notes...............He had no friends". And so it goes on.

Are we to be surprised at the result? As the author says "............his childhood might have been specially designed to create an adult monster." Had that been so, as an exercise/experiment, I can only believe it to have been a HUGE success.

I have to read that book.
I didn´t know his mother and his grandmother were schizophrenics. I do know however, that his biological father had very little to do with him and that he was very quick in press interviews to distance himself from his son after the massacre. The father seemed very cold and detatched, said he had no son.

That, too, was mentioned, as was, a seemingly more favoured, half sibling.

Not sure this is ALL that funny.

They are going to use the island again for political youth camps again, I think. Probably heavily guarded.

There is a small island quite close to Copenhagen with an old fortress, Middelgrundsfortet. It was for sale recently. The Danish Scout Association bought it. They will use it for camps and other arrangements.
I just thought, what a lousy idea! Put a lot of scouts out there as sitting ducks!

Should think the families of those dead kids take him very seriously.

And the kids with lifelong handicaps from the massacre, physical and mental. It is heart breaking.
