Do people even use them? We have a really heavy one from the Oxo Good Grips line and I have never seen my wife use it once. All it does is take up a lot of space in the drawer. We have cabinets and drawers full of crap rarely used if ever but if I suggest placing such in the attic or basement and just leaving the stuff we use routinely in the kitchen cabinets it is as if I asking to commit bloody murder.
I use one! I have two. I bought a "non stick" shiny metal one - £19.99...... And good God it is awful, the flour won't stick to it...so when it touches pastry it sticks!!!!! So I have a pound shop one and that is much better.
I was picturing the " Cheshire Housewives " who are quite a formidable bunch.
Yes Mat of course we use them. At least we can see who does the cooking in the scipio household.
Waiting for their husbands coming home drunk from the pub.
"Colin Caffell (her ex-husband) said that although there had been violent outbursts by Sheila during their time together, this had involved the throwing of pots and pans and the occasional striking of him. To his knowledge she had never harmed the children or behaved violently towards anybody else."http://www.bailii.org/ew/cases/EWCA/Crim/2002/2912.htmlWomen do indeed turn to pots and pans for defense and a female lawyer I work with constantly says she would use a frying pan as her weapon of choice if someone broke into her house because how heavy it is and thus the damage it can do. Is she sexist? This is from a website discussing cleaning pots and pans:"Also, pots and pans make viable weapons against intruders, though once you're done exercising your right to protect your home, you may just want to throw the pot and/or pan away. Blood is much harder to clean than grease, and frankly, who knows where that thieving ne'er-do-well has been? Be safe: Blood is a biohazard."Alias won't even admit female nails break plenty and insists Sheila's nails would not have broken during the struggle so naturally she will ignore the issue of Sheila's weapon of choice being something other than a gun.
Of course they use them. We aren't all rich enough to by a steam roller.
Scipiew, my fingernails never break, because they are bendable, not hard, but soft. Such nails do not break. And now leave me alone, pretend I don´t exist, and I will do the same to you.
Jan you have to stop suggesting Jeremy is innocent, and Sheila guilty. If you are finding it hard, PM me.
If she believe him to be innocent and her guilty then she has every right to state that. If you don't like it Adam, then can I suggest that you go to the "other" forum where you will have no problen in rubbishing Bamber all the time. After all evil will ultimately seek out like minded people.
Alias- there is a bit in the book as well where Colin says there was always violence under the surface there were times we both could have killed each other. That's right is it not? And I thought he said Sheila had hit him?
That is correct.Strange how Colin throws around the word "kill" when you think about what actually happened. He also says that he himself could have killed June, so who was he to condemn Jeremy for doing it!!! I never understood that. Jeremy allegedly killed his sons and he is understanding?
Saying violence between him and Sheila was below the surface when they were married means they didn't actually hurt each other physically though at time they were mad enough to and they damaged objects.Even though he said at times he was so mad he would have liked to kill June the fact is he didn't do so whereas Jeremy not only killed her but Nevill and his kids so he certainly has the right to criticize Jeremy for doing things he didn't.
