No, he wanted them to think it was Sheila but after shooting her twice (for whatever reason, accident or she didn't die after the first shot), he had to go along with it, what else could he do? Too late to cancel the whole things after he's just shot everyone.
NO Alias. It was one of those things which becomes the Law Of Unintended Consequences. If he'd got it right and the first shot had killed her -which I'm perfectly certain was the intention- I VERY much doubt that we'd be having this conversation...................... it's rather like making a fail-safe recipe for a special occasion. If it's ever going to go wrong, THAT will be the time.
It wasn´t too late to just walk out of the door and not go to the lengths (never proven though) of closing the window from the outside, and then, quite brilliantly, through the phonecall to the police to make sure there could only be two suspects, him or Sheila.Too far out!
What would have happened if Sheila hadn't died. She knew who was responsible. He couldn't have taken the chance.
The fact that it's a crap plan doesn't make him innocent . I doubt he thought that the phone call made it him or Sheila as he was too busy trying to cover his arse by using it to give the impression he was elsewhere when it all kicked off.
I repeat: he didn´t have to stage it as a suicide, that is what I am talking about. He could have walked out the door and not called the police.
Would you stage a two shot murder as a suicide and expect to get away with it?
No, he DIDN'T have to, but if that had been his plan from the start it would have been almost impossible -because in his head it HAD worked- to ditch that plan at the last minute.
I wouldn't stage either, but if it's unbelievable that a suicide victim gets shot twice, how can you believe that Sheila killed herself?
Why would it be impossible for him to just walk away after having shot her twice? Not close the window from the outside and not call the police? He would have kept it open that other people might be responsible.
