What do people think - am I seeing things? 

It's a bit like looking at a picture of Mars I'm afraid. If you look hard enough you can see a footprint. But on the other hand it may be because you had suggested it and also ringed it? What I will say though is that Junes body looks as if it had been dead for some time, compared to Sheila's body which doesn't looked to have been dead for very long?

 I agree Mr G. It gave Sheila plenty of time to have a wash and get something to eat as they all appear to have been dead long before herself,which is proof enough that she was the " last one standing ". Possibly still while her brother and the police were outside.

I agree - there is a difference in the appearance of the bodies, but then, we don´t have that good photos.

I didn´t have to look for long to see that "footprint" - in fact I wasn´t looking for one. But I do see pictures in everything, so I guess I am not to be trusted in this regard. Maybe.

I do agree June looks as if she has been dead far longer than Sheila in the photos.

There is an untouched picture of Sheila which looks as though she has been dead just as long as the others. This picture is another reason why I changed my mind. Her skin is discoloured and the blood leaking from her mouth is dried and cracked. I don't want to post it without the agreement from others (although it is already posted somewhere on the forum).

Yes the blood does look dried. But looking at the parts of her body that are shown eg her hands (difficult to tell I know) she doesn't look as deteriorated as June's body imo anyway?

Well it must have been several hours and the blood could have dried in the time the police arrived to the time the raid team broke in, in my opinion anyway?

Whichever way one looks at the photos',they were definitely taken at different times. Also there weren't the " enhancement " techniques that there are now to make a difference to a pic/photo,or it would have been said that they'd been airbrushed.
A  police surgeon would have used a Minolta camera for more accuracy such as in the first pic.

Fact is the photograph is the SAME picture as the one that 'looks' as though the blood is still red. It also shows that Sheila's skin is discolouring which means that livor mortis was well on the way. It is highly unlikely therefore, that she had just died within  a few hours of the picture being taken.

Yes that's true Caroline, but if you look at the nearly full body photograph of Sheila there are distinct differences between the state of her body and June's?

Sorry Grahame, I don't agree - June's injuries were more severe so she was bound to be in a worse state. The pictures of June aren't clear either. However, until you see the picture of Sheila up-close, it looks as though she had just died, but this picture tells a different story.

I do remember Stan Jones (I think) commenting on how Sheila looked as if she was just asleep which maybe encouraged people to believe she had died later?
