I dont know why Adam has to keep on repeating these derogatory terms as if it proves something. If you check the one original notebook from the day he does not say this. And this quote is hearsay from a book - so possibly may not even be true .

A man is not supposed to be tried on his character - he is supposed to be tried on facts.

It seems to me that by repeating these terms over and over again Adam is trying to make some sort of point .

Perhaps he would like to clarify what that point is?

It seems to be more than just interest in a criminal case, but rather a personal matter/personal hatred.

I wonder if this was brought up in court.

The prosecution could get confirmation from Liz Rimmington at trial. Then question Bamber when he testified. He could explain the statement, or say Liz was lying. But why would she lie under oath ?

When testifying, Bamber accused a lot of people of lying. The reason, the media had blackened his name.

Not sure if that would motivate people to lie under oath. Anyway pre verdict the press could only report about the facts and trial.

Julie of course lied under oath because irresistible love god Jeremy had apparently jilted her. After the relationship had been in decline for six months.

Jeremy was a typical " wally " in his day. If it's alleged he made such a remark as him " knowing what happened that night ",then he was just making out that he was the " know-all and big I am ", and nothing sinister. A " Billy Liar " if you like,to make himself recognised. What a pratt !
No doubt we've all met them. Always trying to go one better, especially if they're as financially viable as Jeremy was,so remarks such as he made would have gone right over my head.
Sadly, his impressionable remarks got him locked up. Nobody had figured him out.

As usual it is making something of nothing - He probably just meant what happened to him . In the farmhouse  before he left and how he was treated by the police as the scenario outside. Nothing more , nothing less.
