Even though I am such a noob and not in England to boot, I invite myself! I can always use an excuse to lure my partner to go to England with me... We went twice, but he tends to want to travel elsewhere. I always want to go to England! Just love it!
The scenery in Essex is beautiful and the pub looks so cosy...

On a more serious note, I hope the Bamber case will be reviewed. There are too many unclear points - that is why people are still pondering it, isn´t it!
Whatever they say, even those folks who think he's guilty one things for sure. If it WAS a clear cut case then there wouldn't be this much discussion about it.

So, where are you from abs?

I live in Copenhagen, Denmark, but I am Icelandic originally (I know we aren´t too popular in England these days! :P)

Really?  I've never heard anyone complaining about Danes!!   :o

I think his original barrister should have been disbarred for incompitence. I mean what was going on there? There were so many obvious questions not asked that should have been.

I totally agree. I think there should be a re-trial and all of us on the forum should represent him   ;)

To make sure he gets a fair trial all those who think he's innocent should sit on the jury. ;D

I think there should be a re-trial, so that all the evidence can be looked at more completely and all the inconsistencies ironed out, and considered by a new jury - the reputation of the criminal justice system is at stake. As things stand, the criminal justice system appears to h ave been brought into disrepute by the way this case has been handled and processed through the various courts.....

Mike you tell me though, where the hell are they going to find an unbiased jury today? It is virtually impossible. If he is granted leave to appeal I think it it very unlikely that the result would be a retrial.

I think it's been too long for a retrial. Much of the forensic evidence has been lost, and memories have been dimmed too much.
