New book releases. Anyone excited ?
« on: August 25, 2014, 11:45:AM »
When I first joined this forum in 2013 I was informed new books were coming out shortly. Mason Doyle made a few guest appearances on here mentioning his book. Then nothing.

Anyone got any news on these books ?

More importantly is anyone excited ?

There has already been several books on the case. Both good and bad. The internet has meant tons more information can be obtained via documents, articles, forums, blogs, official sites & Youtube videos. Even the whole of the 2002 appeal transcript is available to read. All 522 points !

So unless an author can establish certain guilt or innocence, it is unlikely there will be any major revelations. Although if an author has managed to interview both Jeremy and Julie, that would be a first. Information on what was in the 2012 CCRC application would also be interesting.

Adam, I have only read one book about the case (Colin Caffell´s), so books haven´t played a big role in my take on this case.
If, when those books are pulished, and some of you here read it and make me curious, I might buy one or both.

Are you aware I have read the Roger Wilkes book ? Recommend it.

My view is to have a good knowledge on this case. Everything on line should be viewed, together with one good book.

The book I have read has a lot of information which is not online. And vice versa.

Other crime cases it may be necessary to read more than one book if there is not enough online information.

ALL the books, literature is EXACTLY the same. I'm NOT impressed by whatever has been written, nor any other publications.
Any book would have to have been written by an "anonymous" ( whistle-blower ) person who actually/physically attended the crime scene before I would believe what was written. Otherwise,it's a tongue-in-cheek job.
I've never been one for fiction, much preferring written FACTS.

True crime books are the authors´ interpretations of different cases. They can be entertaining, but I don´t put too much credence into them. In any case, they can´t stand alone.
Believe it or not, but I am interested in many other cases apart from this one, so I spread my time a little...  ;D

I certainly won't be buying MD's book. Likely won't buy the other either.

Indeed so, Alias. I must have read almost everything written about Anne Boleyn. Some authors think she was a helpless pawn in a much larger game, others believe it was she who initiated the game. Authors create such diverse personalities that their subject could be different people. Most of what is written makes for interesting reading, but will the REAL Anne Boleyn please reveal herself.

I have also read some about Anne Boleyn (most interesting wife of Henry VIII) - yes, very different interpretations. Interesting time period to read about! Love it.

It is going to be a long book if it covers both pre and post massacre. Jeremy is in his 50's and the crime was 29 years ago.
