Oh yes! Unfortunately the international airport is situated in a rather ugly part of the country (the old Amenican base is there - guess we only wanted to give them ugly landscapes....), and the Blue Lagune is in that general area. So if that is all she has seen, it is a shame!
Well she went on a very short 3 day trip at beginning of January.  They were supposed to go to see the northern lights but they went pony trekking and her friend fell off her VERY docile horse and they ended up in casualty for hours so all they did was swim  and half a pony trek  ;D ;D  but she enjoyed it.  :)

Aww, always a bummer to have accidents or get sick on holidays! Did they see the nightlife? It gets quite wild on weekends!

Don't think so Alias, think they only had one full night there and they spent it most of it in casualty!!

We changed our plans.... still going to England, but staying longer. We´ll sail to Harwich as planned, take the bus to Colchester as planned, will have a look at Colchester as planned, but here the plan changes. We wee supposed to go back to the boat and sail back the same day, but we will take the train to London instead and stay there for three days, then fly back to Copenhagen.  ;D
Love London - once worked there for a little while.

Enjoy your break, however if you can in any way avoid Colchester, you should put some effort in to doing so.

Yes the surrounding areas are quite lovely, as others have mentioned, but the town itself is quite a dump.

I'm surprised the recent stabbings haven't been mentioned on the forum.  :-\

Thanks, Harters, I don´t think we will stay that long in Colchester, but I do want to see it - oldest town in England.

Avoid London as well. It's full of Dutch holidaying there. ;D

And it's still a garrison town. Been so since the Romans. Maldon is also one of the oldest towns in England.

And now Danes too.  :P Won´t be until September - not as many tourists then I suppose.

I love London, or parts of it at least. Greenwich is one of my favourite places.

Actually we are staying very close to where I worked in London. Not far from Oxford Street.

You'd be hard pressed to find a genuine Londoner these days. They've all moved out to Essex. London's ok for a day I suppose?
