Although it doesn't prove anything, this testimony is quite damning.

Clearly he stresses the grease issue and the difficulty in loading if you're not sure of how it's done.

If Jeremy is to be believed, then Sheila did know (hot debate of its own), but the grease issue is harder to get over, and tends to push the defence to having ALSO to claim sheila washed her hands, or they were poorly swapped / analysed.

I know the defence to claim this, but it's just more they have to do, instead of "it's very easy to load, and you keep clean hands" (or even just one of these)

There appears to be a page missing and some of the pages might not be in the order in which they were made - I apologize for this, but it is out of my control...

Fingerprint evidence from examination of bullet cases went missing / was not / has not been disclosed...

Pargeter made a witness statement to Essex police , stating that he purchased his .22 Bruno bolt action rifle in 1980, along with a Parker hale silencer, which he kept at whf. He stated that although he normally kept his weapons at whf, he always removed the bolt and took that home with him, so that no-one else could fire it in his absence, which is different to what he told COLP in his 1991, witness statement...

Why are the contents of his witness statements inconsistent?

He mentions Police alarm...

Something added after the crime to prevent trophy hunting, or was it already in place?

He also states HE told David Boutflour to handle the silencer with caution (put it in plastic and don't touch it)... just like MOST sensible people would, esp the moment they suspect it MIGHT be evidence.

We don't know if boutflour actually was holding it, but it does suggest he could have been.

I think I can understand David asking for advice on the matter... a double check of his sanity, although according to ann, the family were quite decent gun people... but maybe not considering themselves as 'expert' as Anthony... all the same, this fiddling and inspecting of the silencer is hard to believe...

I cannot get the idea out of my mind that any sane person, who ALREADY had suspicions about JB, AND then with a stroke of quite epic good luck then doesn't stop dead in his tracks and make sure it's not touched.

I say 'epic stroke of luck' because in normal circumstances, it would be considered so. Given the shoddy handling of the house by EP, it actually wasn't such an epic stroke at all, multiple guns and paraphernalia remained in the house.

Which raises yet another question....

Did they so carefully inspect ALL the other stuff? or did this one leap out at them screaming "examine me, examine me?"

There seem to be two pages missing. Can you ask Jeremy how many pages he is aware of?

He told me previously that if he ever had them, then I should have copy somewhere but I cannot lay my hands on it even though I have tried to...

in this COLP statement Pargetter talks about having some Winchester Hushtower ammunition for his .22 rifle.

I can find no online references to any ammunition of this type...search results drawing a blank...
is there a typo or something not transcribed properly or is Pargetter inventing a fake name for ammunition that does not exist that he thought would not be found out.
COLP interview being in 1991 ...very much pre widespread internet.

seems like more fiction from Pargetter.

There are Eley Hush Power Shotgun cartridges....but surely not things that would be kept in a .22 rifle case ...so that cannot be right.
A manufacturer of shotguns and accessories uses the Hushpower name but again not anything to do with .22 ammunition.

so why was Pargetter creating false ammunition names to confuse...what was he hiding about his own ammunition that he used at whf that so needs to be kept hidden from public knowledge.
did he have ammunition that was used in the murders that he is keeping quiet about and that this may explain why some bullets were not the correct weight for the claimed murder ammunition all being from Ralphs Eley stock.

I know that pargeter is the weak link in this case, he was ducking and diving from the off.
There is no doubt in my my mind that the family have gathered around to protect him.
To my mind he is a major player, but I am not certain he acted alone.
On his own confession he was considered a good shot, but to murder three adults, and two children would require some really good skills.[if that is the right wording].
 Pargeter lied, and lied again.
His rifle was at WHF on the day of the murders, no doubt.
He was present when the silencer was "found" even though EP had removed a silencer on the day of the murders, so TWO silencers then.
It will come as no surprise to you posters that I think that Jones was a bent copper, and was above his station, but with pressure from the family he was given a free leash..
Please excuse my language, but I believe he was knobbing  Mugford, and coached her from the off.
I am sure he knew of the deal with the NoTW, after all he set it up, for a consideration.
I would like to see Mugford dragged back to this country to explain her complicity in these murders.
This thing stinks, and hopefully someone will get to the bottom of it.

To my knowlege, for what it is, Pargeter only said he was fitting a scope to his rifle at this time, as far as I am aware DB knew nothing of this.
Bearing in mind DB was not a frequent visitor to WHF, nor was Pargeter for that matter.
Funny how they Knew Ralph, and June so well.
Ann was well conected it seems, but knew nothing about Sheila's problems.

Sorry to be so stupid, but what does 'knobbing' mean? Does it mean something like 'hob knobbing' or is it a rather more earthy expression? I looked it up and the dictionary thinks it's something to do with door handles,

Hadnt really thought of it like that before.Pargeter says his purpose of coming to stay at the farm on the weekend previous to the murders, was to fit new sights to his rifle. But who witnessed him carrying this out?He apparantly told Jeremy and Nevill to go on ahead whilst he sorted out his rifle,so who knows what he was in actual fact doing to it?And then the mystery of whether the gun was at the farm or not when the murders took place. Its all very odd.

Cliff reckons that Jones may have been smashing Mugford's pasty in....

Well I can guess what that must mean, but you know I've never heard any of these expressions  ;D
