Had to walk home from work - no means of transportation, no trains, no buses, no available taxis. That is all, but it was scary, city was like a mini-war zone, sirens everywhere. Usavory charachters lurking around, things flying through the air... Had to get home though, and I was lucky because it is only about half an hour´s walk. Other people were stranded, don´t know what they did except one I know who found Facebook friends to bunk at!
That sounded awful,Alias. I knew it was bad there because I'd read that the storm was gathering speed and force across the Channel. You were lucky to get home unscathed,,and so glad you did as well,,because nowhere is nice now at night-time,,or worse,,in the dark.
Unfortunately,,I did read that it was returning, and this time to hit us in the North,,so we'll wait and see. I don't like the winds at all as it's the damage they can do. We had 4 deaths here,,including a young boy who was swept out to sea and so far he hasn't been found.
