DID she know, though? He sure as hell wouldn't have told her that he'd been violent. Aggression can be caused by many things.

She must have seen his outbursts on television during his training for races. He used to lose his rag at the drop of a hat. One argument was about the prosthetic limbs he refused to wear. It made the front pages about his strops.

But she may not have known/believed that his violence could be directed at women.

Actually, I didn't know about his strops but I only vaguely knew about him at all.
I do believe what I said earlier that so many people make the mistake of believing the person they adore would never turn their nasty, bullying temper on them.  Sad but true people do die because of such a mistake.
Some people do have more sense and would keep well away from such a person, who knows what is the real reason some do and some don't but I don't believe we should judge anyone for it.

OK. I won't do names, but why should the person who made a horrible faux pas regarding something that has been talked about here on the forum, on the grounds they didn't know about it, assume that Reeva should have known about OP's violence. Incidentally, until all this happened, I didn't know anything about him, either.

Because I like the Olympics and watching the games, etc,it was during watching them that I saw Pistorius's fiery temper, but I hadn't realised at the time that he had a girlfriend or if I had, I'd have predicted some sort of danger concerning him. You only have to study his face to see how wild he is.

Ye Gods, how was I to know that Steph married in prison ?? I didn't,did I ? Nor was I referring to her or if I'd known this I wouldn't have said anything would I ?

Anyhow,I'm not walking on eggshells in case I inadvertantly blot my copy-book again  ::)

Pity I hadn't taken up mind-reading !!

I was referring to beautiful women such as Reeva was,who KNEW that Pistorius had a history of violence as do other charmers who have beautiful women on their arms----------it's called insecurity and a fear of loss.

If this is the case lookout why did you make the comment about women marrying in prison? Reeva didn't marry in prison?

No need to be aggressive Lookout!

No you didn't say that Reeva married in prison but you did make a bigoted prejudicial 'general' comment that I called you out on. No ones perfect Lookout, that includes you. We all make mistakes. Have you never made a mistake in your life?

And looks shouldn't come into either IMO. Beauty is skin deep and to make a suggestion that a good looking person can do better, or have the pick of the bunch - as you suggested, again shows your bigoted and prejudiced outlook...

I'd have thought a women of your age would have learned that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that one should never judge a book by its cover.

With regards to disowning a child for their crimes I guess each to their own but in my book that suggests conditional love as opposed to unconditional love. I know many families whose lives have be touched by the criminal justice system and the families I know have never walked away from their children. That doesn't make them bad people, in fact quite the opposite as far as I'm concerned. It shows they take their responsibility as a parent seriously, through the good and the bad. Children are for life aren't they? Or does that only apply if you child doesn't get into trouble with the criminal justice system?

I'd have thought attempting to get to the root cause of why the child committed a criminal offence in the first place would be the sensible approach, instead of walking away and disowning them. That behaviour is unconscionable and I'd have to question the parents behaviours if they are able to do this.

I saw an interview with Pistorius this week. Talk about bad acting. The interviewer sat impassively and walked off at the end without even shaking his hand.

If a burglar decided to break into a pretty secure building that already had people inside, then hid in the toilet after Pistorious got up, the burglar was no threat. So it was first degree murder as he shot a defenceless person through a locked door.

Pistorious had a lot going for him. Successful, rich, famous and still had several years of competing left.

All of that went after a woman put him in such a rage, that he shot her. What an earth did one woman do to make him lose everything he had worked for ?

All I can assume in his defence is Pistorius shot at the toilet door in a rage. He could not see Riva so assumed the bullets would miss. Or that the shots were not powerful enough to go right through the door.

To expect shots to go through a door and then hit and kill the person on the other side is optimistic.

Pistorious couldn't say this is what happened so made up the story that he thought it was a burglar and didn't check to see if Reva was lying next to him.

Then again, he went to get a gun and then followed Reva into the bathroom. The evidence says he had his prosthetic legs on, so may have put those on after or before getting the gun. So had plenty of time to calm himself down.

So a strong argument for premeditated murder.

Justice for Reeva at last

13 years for one life, eh? Multiply that by 5 lives. I -or rather, my calculator- make it 65 years.
