Not quite. 28 years is about 10,220 days. A very long time, and a sad, sad anniversary regardless whether he did it or not, but of course devasatating if he didn´t.  :(

Anyone who plots the death of even one person, should never be let out unless the murders were in response to abuse, because of a mental illness or to escape captivity - However, I don't think he did do it and I think the travesty of justice is just as tragic!!

Of course not.  If he did do it then apart from wipe out a family he kill two children and then continued to persecute the remaining family for years.

27-28 years would destroy the mind and soul of most people, truly life with no release is worse than death , his mind has not died his written/spoken english would wipe out a 3rd of the people here in the UK, and that intrests me.

Hi Patti
I'm afraid that IF he did commit five murders he most certainly should not ever be let out - think of the message that would send out to other potential mass murderers

Hi Jim

Hope you are well.  I do agree with you. If I had never looked into this case, I would be of the same mind.  I would frightened of letting anyone one out, in case they murdered again.

One life two lives or more, I do believe in do the crime, serve the time...if that means life, then so be it.

Do you think think all murders should get whole life tariff's...... :) :) :) :)

Just an observation, but the 10k relates to the date of his arrest on 29/9/85 rather than his court judgement more than a year later.

hi patti
i'm tickety boo thankyou and i hope that you are walking on sunshine
i do not believe that all murderers should receive a whole life tarrif but that it should be reserved for the most heinous of murderers (i strongly suspect that mr cregan is about to join the list)
think of the implications for prison discipline if all murderers received a whole life tarrif and what about a murderer who has committed a single murder but is yet to be apprehended by the police - if he thought that for a single murder he would serve a whole life tarrif, he might well think that there's nothing to be lost by committing furthere murders prior to his apprehension
