Letter from my local MP
« on: February 24, 2011, 02:08:PM »
:D  Hello. Let me introduce myself. My name is Maggie. I have believed in Jeremy's innocence from the time he was convicted. I've been following Jeremy's case for a long time and have been corresponding with him since 2002, about the time he lost his last appeal.

I have just received a letter from my local MP Duncan Hames today regarding the wrongful imprisonment of Jeremy. I emailed him during the time we had the campaign to email our local MPs. He's taken a while to reply to me.  Here is his reply:

"Thank you for your email to me, raising your concerns regarding the imprisonment of Mr Jeremy Bamber.

I also thank you for your great patience in waiting for my response; as a new MP in a brand new constituency I have been inundated with correspondence and am endeavouring to reply to all of my constituents as soon as possible.

I can understand your concerns regarding this issue. Wrongful imprisonment is a very serious issue and one that everyone wants to avoid. I have written to Kenneth Clarke MP, Secretary of State for Justice, regarding this matter.

I will be back in touch again as soon as I receive a response. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact me if i can be of any further assistance.

Yours sincerely,

Duncan Hames MP."

I've just emailed Jeremy with the details of this letter.   :)

He's the MP for Chippenham, I'm curious what it was that you asked him to do and therefore what he would have written to Clarke for?

After all the CCRC are already on the case.

This was a few months back. A group that set up the Jeremy Bamber is Innocent facebook site asked members to email their local MP. There was a standard email written, which we all sent to our local MP. I've only just got a reply from my local MP today.  Anyway, we may need these two MPs if things go pear shaped in a couple of months time.  ;)  I'm convinced that won't happen though.  :)

Do you have any recollection of the contents of the standard email?

Can i just ask why youre so sure hes innocent?? Not having a go jst interested to see what evidence/information has steered you in that direction.

Im undecided but swaying towards him been guilty.

That facebook site makes me uncomfortable. Saw some comment from some woman wanting to know how she could write to him as she thought he was sexy! Didnt appear yo care whether guilty or innocent though.

Never got these women that wrote to prisoners (no offence) id be too scared thinking that some physcho knows where i live!

It would take me forever to explain why I'm convinced he's totally innocent. So I'm not going to explain here or just now. I might go into it when the CCRC have made their decision.

My opinion is that I believe that there is no evidence of much merit which undisputably points either to his innocence or guilt. (That I've seen)

Edit: But what evidence that there is sways me toward thinking he's much more likely to be guilty than innocent.

Note that the letter to the Chief Constable does NOT mention a single refusal to disclose to a specific request, but again repeats the request for 'full disclosure' of the file.

I feel inclined to write to JB's solictors and ask for clarification of the specific requests made, as allowed for by law.

I am wondering if the only outstanding requests are
      Full disclosure of all documents
      Full disclosure of all photographs/negatives
knowing that these will not be met.
