Site Feedback
« on: February 22, 2011, 04:31:PM »
Hi

Over the coming days most of the content from the existing .com site is going to be posted on here but on its own board under a category called jeremybamber.com archive this is planned to be a read only board and will include all the old press archives main pages etc.

I am interested to hear if anyone has any other ideas on how the site could be improved or if there are any features that people woule like to see added. There is an idea to add a section relating to other cases not connected to Jeremy's.

Regards

Admin,

Previous post titled Regular Straw poll

Just an idea.

Would it be of interest to you and the site members, if the members were able to vote, based on the information available and the members comments, on whether they feel JB is innocent, guilty, or they support a retrial?

The vote should of course be anonymous and updated say weekly on a one vote per person basis.

Or do you feel this is too gimmicky?

I was thinking along the lines of having a click box in each members own site that allows them to tick a box for either guilty / not guilty / retrial (or anything else) and have the results showing somewhere on the general site.

This will allow members (voters) and guests (non voters) to get a general concensus of site opinion.

Regards

I'm new so probably a little soon for me to have an opinion but a section for other crimes would be brill!!

I'm a bit of an armchair detective as I assume most of us are so it would be nice to broaden the topics to other topics of interest.

One of the best (in fact the best) forums I've ever been on is RFUK which is a reptile forum but has so mAny other categories also and you can have some great discussions on emotive topics!

Just my opinion but I'd definatly post more f the topics were widened!

All I want to say is I think Mike goes a great job - even when he's disagreeing with me!

The fact that he genuinely cares does lead to some partisan moments - admit it! - but it's that caring which gives the site genuine meaning and passion, inspiring others to care. Plus 5 dead people and I man imprisoned for 25 years.

Thanks for the positive feedback on that, everything here is Mikes idea my role is just the technical side, I have just enabled a news fader that appears above the boards on the main page this can also be expanded to appear in the head section of the site visible all the time, obviously Mike will be in charge of adding the news items if this feature becomes permanent.
New bits will appear over the coming days and thanks for the feedback so far please feel free to to air all ideas.

@mb1 Yes I must admit Mikes Passion for this is incredible so all credit to him.

Thanks

Be good to get some professional people posting forensics, criminologists, etc.... To give an impartial view based on the bits of information that are known and just to clarify how certain proceedures are carried out!

Maybe a guest once a month, someone drafted in to answer questions like a web chat type thing obviously they couldn't comment on specifics but could give a better idea on some of the things we speculate on.

I am a specialist legal librarian - does that help?

Hi Admin, could I please have your thoughts on my proposal (Straw poll)?

As this place grows and grows, maybe it's getting to the stage where introducing child/sub forums for different topics would be worthwhile?

You give a great insight on the legal system, some things i wasnt aware of until you clarified proceedure etc...

Forensics interest me, just think if those murders had taken place more recently there would more than likely be no confusion at all about what happened that night.

Hi Admin, could I please have your thoughts on my proposal (Straw poll)?

This is certainly being looked into maybe making it a sticky topic for a number of days, there will also be more boards being added over the coming days for other high profile cases, all feedback is being taken into consideration and thank you to everyone for that.

Some of these ideas will be happening over the next few days and a few of the other ones over maybe a longer period of time things here are still new and the plan is to do lots of little changes frequently.

Thanks again
