I don't understand why the boys were fostered twice and why there was talk of fostering the boys again where was Colin on those occasions.  I find it very strange why this would happen not forgetting the large extended family who inherited all the money.
Sheila with clinical depression having to talk to her parents and being told it might be best to foster them again

Can anyone confirm they were fostered at times and why

She had schizophrenia, not clinical depression.

I don't know enough about the previous fosterings to comment really. Perhaps Colin was unable to look after them because of work commitments or something. I wonder what his mother thought about it all.

Haven't heard this - where did you read it?
Perhaps they were fostered on the two occasions when Sheila was hospitalized? It could have been very briefly, while they located Colin.

A colleague and his wife foster. Sometimes they are just overnight stays. Some are heartbreaking cases but other family members don't step forward as it can make matters worse and set families against each other even more.

But like you, don't think I could just stand by and let a child in the family be fostered, although I suppose one day I'd be too old too consider it!

Not sure what thread to put this in but i have just been over to WHF. Bit spooky down Pages Lane, not sure if that is because i know what has happened down there. Trespasser will be prosecuted...... 8) only if you are caught :-X

Timings 7 mins from Head Street, Goldhanger to Pages lane, Tolleshunt at speed limits. Only spotted 2 cars going there and 1 pedestrian and that was at 8.30pm.

Coming back, thought i would push it a bit and see how quick i could do it in, just over 5 minutes and once again 2 cars and 1 pedestrian passed. I don't think that journey is too difficult to do quickly, some tight bends but nothing too bad. That was the first time i had driven on that road.

I struggle to comprehend how Jeremy could be overtaken by a police car over such a short journey with i presume no traffic at 3.30 in the morning, driving to a life and death family situation. You can see cars coming a mile off, in front and behind.

Oh and another thing there was another farm on the sign down there, Wymmes Farm or something like that. Anyone know how far that is from WHF?

Have the roads been improved over the years?

IF JB was telling the truth, then he could have been scared, wondering what he was going to face if he got there before the police.
IF guilty, it's obvious why...

What do you mean you went to whf. Just drove there and turned around again?

That is the farm at the end of Pages Lane.

Maybe they were fostered while social services looked at both parents situation. Maybe it was felt for whatever reason the boys would be better off for a short while placed outside the family!

Not doubting colin caffel at all but he may have been struggling to come to terms with his separation and wifes illness and not able to cope for a short time.

I wouldn't read too much into her been quiet on journey to farm. It's no secret she didn't like there and also to be fair if I was in a car with my ex husband I wouldn't want to speak to him either.

Apologies regarding the illness and it wasn't clinical depression but the  other condition is just as bad I just get the feeling she wasn't coping I just think the way Colin described her mood driving over to whf her behaviour  while at the farm the discussions with Neville her bed not being slept in.  I just think she could have just snapped.  It was in the height of the summer she should have been looking forward to have been going to the farm.  Too much seems to add up to her being in such a strange mood that day and if she couldn't sleep.
As most people say it was her or Jeremy.
In my opinion I haven't read anything that makes me think jb could be a mass killer more things like arrogant, lazy etc
Did jb have any history of violence

Fair enough. That sign was erected to try and stop news vans etc invading every time JB makes the new.

Also I meant that it's Wymmes farm at the very end of Pages Lane, about half a mile from White House.

Some of you posting here seem to live close by.

It must be difficult for locals to keep having this raised, without any definite resolution. Hope the area finally gets closure one or or another and can move on.

I think if i asked the footy team that i ran if they knew who JB was, the youngsters wouldn't have a clue. I think the older guys (late 20's upwards) would.

I imagine it's probably is difficult for those around Tolleshunt and the other little villages around there everytime it is brought up in the news. Essex has this case and the Rettenden murders for infamy.

I am trying to think about Sheila the state of mind Sheila was in the day of the murders she was being driven to whf which she apparently hated.  Why? She was driven by her ex husband and never spoke to him on the way

Did Sheila have anyone close through this illness?

The subject of fostering was bought up again why?
If you are suffering from this illness and have no one that you are close with probably nobody would know you might contemplate suicide (although I think Colin did)

Does anyone know if jb had any history of violence

Well Sheila was at a party at his place that weekend apparently, so they must have got on OK.

Colin drove her and the boys there on the Sunday - a few days before the murders.
