He is pleading not guilty and his lawyer told the court that he was probably responsible...I've never come across this.

I think what he is trying to say, is that he did not abduct her, because she may have got into his car willingly, therefore he was not responsible for her abduction....or something like that....

Ian Huntley tried it on at his trial by saying the girls had freely entered his home and both had an accident....In his case he completely guilty on all accounts...

if it was that simple i cant see why the defense would be asking for more time.

It takes time me thinks to build a defence...maybe he wants to back track all the evidence...Sadly it doesn't tell you why...other than he wants more time.

Whether he is innocent or guilty of anything I really wish that she would be found.

I was surprised the press were allowed to report things like this so early on in the trial.  Yes, I had read about the porn material and him running her over....someone ought to run him over, but that would be too good for him....I feel so sorry for April's family having to listen and go through all of this, there is no easy way is there.....

Seems like he's using the 'ran her over' as an excuse, like it was an accident. I doubt he actually ran her over.
