I suppose it is a matter of opinion, I have never had the five closest members of my family slain in a malicious and brutal fashion so do not know how I would feel, however, I think that even with my callous views on many things, money and work would be far from my mind until at least a few days later. I do not believe JB guilty incidentally, however, I do wish to discuss why other people may and I think that his behaviour could have fuelled many fires.

Simply put ajross to stop the relatives wading in and taking the lot.

If you don't like my point then that is fine but I suspect a surreptitious attempt to undermine my points by continually getting my name wrong, were it a mistake or slip of the finger you would press one of many keys surely, not just the 'd' which thus makes my name 'dross'.

I think different people react differently Jeremy was only a boy really and suddenly he may have felt important everything was now resting on his shoulders and instead of weeping and wailing he behaved in a practical manner if we can believe of course about it being the day after and got on with things he was doped up with valium and other things so all his emotions would have been subdued it is a well known fact that the like of valium subdues your feelings.  Poor Jeremy.

I agree maggie. Perhaps he is one of these that tried to hide his emotions...He was certainly in disbelief for when his statement was taken he kept mentioning them as though they were still alive.....It must have been difficult to come to terms with...No one knows what he was like behind closed doors...He was  never left alone either....which makes it even harder to grieve..

Hi ajross  I am so so sorry for that I use to get it wrong then I got it right I would never disrespect you by deliberately spelling your name wrong and all I can do is offer my sincere apologies and it wont happen again.  I don,t necessary disagree with your views I know many people would have looked down on Jeremy for what would appear callous behaviour but sometimes people behave in such a manner that they deal with deaths differently and grieve differently.  Again so sorry if I upset you spelling your name wrong I can assure it was a genuine error but I will take more care in future.

People can judge and think what they will about bereaved or traumatised people but none of us have the right to judge others in such a situation and as I said we all react differently.

I have no doubt overreacted and do not wish to start a 'spat' apology accepted and I apologise for the accusation, we have always got on well in the past. I don't necessarily question his actions, I am just looking at what other people may have thought. I do not believe him to be guilty but am not as vehement in my protestations of innocence as others and sometimes post things that may seem contrary to a 'defence' stance.

It may be the writing or just my interpretation but when reading that JB told the relatives of a £1000 and £500 windfall after the visit to the solicitor I sensed a certain glee. As I have said, I am taking issue with many aspects of Wilkes' writing although the book is very interesting. To the point I am at it seems as if from the beginning he relatives colluded in some way with Stan Jones on the basis of a 'feeling' he had. Although intuition is a fundamental part of detective work it then needs support and I will hopefully find some of that in the following chapters
