They were both allowed to leave home though, before either of them reached 18. Maybe they were both eager to leave or may have been persuaded...Also the parents bought them both a home. It's quite puzzling at times.  :-\ :-\ :-\

I think, Patti, that provision of property for their young is part of the youngs' rite of passage, besides, neither of them had the kind of qualifications which would have enabled them to find work to finance themselves.

She found showing affection impossible, apart from a stuffed toy on the bed and maybe Crispy, I just wonder that she may have desperately wanted to hug her daughter but quite simply didn't know how to.  I think June's life was also a tragedy, belonging to the English upper classes at that time was more of a curse than anything I should think.

Behavioural patterns are known to be passed on, partly because nobody recognizes that it's happening and partly because it's almost impossible to change without help even if it is.

proving a tough nut to crack patti, but to this day im still curious as to why colin included it given the verdict on jeremy.

It amazes me how someone can change their mind on Jeremy Bambers guilt or innocence by whoever they decide to be friendly with. One minute stating something as fact (today) and another dismissing something as just part of a story in a book that's not factual

it is definately in the claire powell book, its in that book that she mentions the meeting at the pub, where they allegedly tried to do a deal with the reporter for the pictures. i have that book, its called murder at whithouse farm.

Yep,thats the one Andrea

.Do you believe it happened? Only,Claire writing about that meeting obviously put Jeremy in a bad light and yet in most of the book, she seems quite supportive of him.Thats what made me wonder if it was indeed true.

ive no idea tyler, she gets a lot of things wrong in that book. for instance when june caught sheila in the field with colin, powell said it was a farmhand and that they were having sex in a ditch. cc himself told the true story. the book aint that reliable but is any book?

Now that is a very relevant statement Andrea. How many of us take for granted that which a certain book says is true? Or how many of us check up on the writer of the book to see what they themselves believe? Very few of us are neutral on any subject and what we write may reflect that which we ourselves believe and not what is actually true?
Again you can see this prejudice in the forum as well. Someone may believe in something so strongly that they cannot see the truth and indeed refuse even to read another person's opinion from the opposite side. What makes this even more confusing is that, that person is convinced that they are looking at all things fairly.
Wow! When did I join up to that crappy forum?

Am I the only person who thinks June was a damaged person and was probably abused, in the same way she abused Sheila, when she was a child.  Wasn't she part of the tragedy rather than just the cause?
No you're not Maggie. I think June comes in for a lot of stick that she doesn't deserve. We have very reliable reports that she was a very kind and generous person. We can't always blame the sins of the children on their parents.

Grahame, one of my arguments and its only a theory, anyone with schizophrenia tends to see things in a different way than the rest of us.  They obsess and hold grudes over all sorts of details which should possibly be dismissed as just one of those things.  Their paranoa makes them see the smallest slight as an enormous insult.  Sheila would see June in that way and many other people as well.  I'm not saying June did or didn't behave in certain ways but schizophrenics have massive association problems, they see the world aand the people in it from a totally different perspective. So her perception of her mum could have been severely skewed.
