I have read the book and I really so no serious bias in it. In fact he seems to face up to and point out many difficulties withing the case. More than could be said for the other books on the subject. On those we of course have a daily review in the posts of Steve-uk. So you can judge for yourself just how biased those books are.

It's really not what he says, but how he says it. There is no 'serious' bias but reading it I could tell he was on the side of innocence.

Evil, Almost Beyond Belief? by Scott Lomax

It's a while since I read this, I always avoided books on the White House Farm Murders because I believed they were biased for or against Jeremy and didn't particualarly stick to the facts.

Personally, I found it easy to read and although I already knew many of the facts and theories it did hold my attention.  For anyone who has read the archives on this forum there is little you wouldn't have already read but because it's a relatively new book, published in 2008, it does include the more recent evidence which is examined in depth.  Lomax spent a great deal of time discussing Jeremy's feeings about the case during the time he was working on the book but personally, I didn't find it biased. The facts were presented and the reader was left to make up their own mind.    There are a few mistakes where Lomax gets his facts wrong but
generally it's pretty accurate and everything is explained and discussed in depth.

It's difficult to know whether someone who considered Jeremy guilty might find the book biased mainly because Jeremy Bambers opinions are included in the book and it's really up to the individual as to whether they find that ok or not. To my mind it was an easy read with clearly laid out facts which are discussed in depth....I enjoyed it and my daughter who knew nothing about the case found it an interesting read and is now a convinced supporter of Jeremy Bamber's MOJ claim.

Hi Maggie

Many thanks for the feedback/review and thanks for the offer of borrowing your copy.  I think I'll get my own copy; I might find your copy has too many pages stuck together and crumbs dropping out  ;). Seriously reading these second hand books ie Caffell, Wilkes and Powell has wreaked havoc with my OCD.  I've got thru' what feels like a ton of anti-bacterial handwash and hand cream.  Plus I like to read in bed, amongst other things (when I'm not sex starved) and I could never entertain what to my mind are 'dirty' books.  Perhaps a business opportunity to get every book ever published onto an E-reader?

I will do a review for the books I've read:  Caffell, Powell and Wilkes.  Interestingly all these books are supposedly bias towards JB's guilt.  As such I was hoping they would challenge my beliefs and yet I came away even more convinced of JB's innocence!  So perhaps Scott's book will have the opposite effect!

I would hang on to you copy.  When  ;) JB's conviction is overturned these books could become valuable collectables ;)

Hello N/N  never mind when Mason Doyle's book comes out in Autumn you can buy it new so it will be germ free.  Did you know you can get anti bacterial spray for your nose just incase the germs jump out of the book up your nose whilst sat up in bed ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Just thought I'd offer because you asked me once if you could borrow one of the other books which I didn't have.  Scott Lomax is the only one I've read, maybe I should try to get hold of some of the others, plus boxes of disposable masks and gloves?. ;)

Thats no good. You wont be able to pick your nose as others have done before you got the book.
I know what NN means. I bought a book once. I thought I'd read a few pages one night. Before I knew it I had read the whole book. Unfortunately there was a dirty dark streak along the edges of the pages where I had flicked through it. I had to buy them abother one. Advice: When going into second hand book shops don't lick your index finger when you thumb through the books. Many have probably done that before you.

Hi Maggie

You are welcome to borrow mine so long as I can have them back.  I thought you said you would find them 'difficult' because they emphasise the toxic June/Sheila relationship?  I could always deliver them personally if you could put me up overnight with my windsurfer  ;). I'm small, tidy and clean and you would hardly know I'm there  apart from my incessant chatter.  Is your house ultra clean?  I will need proof.  You seem to spend too much time on the forum to take housework seriously unless you have a cleaner?   I'm not too keen on pets either.   :)

Colin Caffell has never written another book on the case , his sole one is now quite old.

Hi Mertol

No I think that was David James Smith, a journalist from The Times, who interviewed JB fairly recently.  I'll download the link for you.  Coming up...

Many thanks NN , ive read the article, a few notes ive seen, the frequent reminder of the value of the estate, and those who felt they had a slice of it , several people wanting the same thing, little mention of those killed, the test by jeremy and a inmate in the prison on a red cast metal doorstop, it does draw that he has been duped , been had.

No Mertol i think that may have been Wilkes but not sure. No Scott Lomax believes Jeremy to be innocent, he does'nt make any comments about Bambers personality if I remember rightly.  ;D

And Steve-uk rarely quotes Scott and when he does he misquotes him. Basically because by his own admission he has only skim read the book in Waterstones, probably with an already biased mind.
