I think I can tell the difference Vic. Of course some people always make jokes at other people's expense.  Being offensive and personal and then calling it a 'joke' is bullying imo.

Maggie The Mod please see my previous post re your 'cuckoo' joke.

Maggie The Mod please see my previous post re your 'cuckoo' joke.

Why does Maggie have to be addressed in those terms?  I think 'Maggie' is enough.

"Wrongly Accused"

Your back then trouble... ;)

Talking of being 'offensive' Patti for reasons unknown you appear to take great delight in referring to me as 'trouble' even on threads/posts that lack banter.  Perhaps this should be dropped after all I wouldn't want it to develop into a self-fullfilling phrophecy would I?  ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

NN, I would like to point out something which you should know very well.  I of all people would never 'joke' about cuckoo's in the context you are quoting.  It was not a joke although it was a comment which I made.  I am the adoptive mother of two children who I have loved and cared for to the very best of my ability.  Why should I ever find such a phrase directed at adopted children funny?

Agreed my friend but surely you must see how subjective 'joking' is?  You 'joke' about cuckoos/adoptees = joke.  I joke about your good self, Lookout and Lugg being old/ancient and that is deemed to be 'offensive' so much that it requires editing by Patti The Plod.

Pleased to hear it.  Makes a refreshing change.  You're obviously developing as a person and might yet make the criteria for Filly membership .  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Whatever Patti chose to do she did, whatever I said to Vic is my personal opinion about bullying.  How you can state in all seriousness that I was making a joke about adoption when it is something I have lived with for nearly 30 years and something I hope enabled me to give my two children the very best I could and would in the fact never turn my back on any child. Your insinuations are offensive NN.

I'm not entirely sure why I'm even attempting to explain this, but here goes..

You are taking Maggie's comment completely out of context. If memory serves there was banter going on which involved naming birds. Maggie was in no way implying that she thought the term cuckoo was funny or acceptable when applied to adoptees, other than perhaps to laugh at those people stupid enough to use the term.

Your comment regarding the ages of Maggie, Lookout and Lugg served no other purpose than to be offensive. Agreed, it was probably mildly so, but offensive all the same. If it had been the first time you had said such a thing you may have got away with it, but I recall earlier comments in a discussion with lookout in which you attributed her views to her age.

You would do well to stick with the old adage "attack the post, not the poster", does that help?

Hi NN,

Maggie has not complained to me about anything.  I intervened off my own back.  Your attacks on her are over the top, in my opinion.  You may disagree with that.

Could I suggest here that we all kiss and make up and put all previous comments behind us and try and get along from now on? I admit that at times my comments are sometimes over the top, hurtful and sarcastic. I apologise to NN here and now and take back everything hurtful I have said to her. :)
